Are we missing something

So I read The Athletic article by Bruce Feldman on how 12 coaches all picked Indiana. Today driving to worked 4/4 panelists on the LockedOnACC podcast picked Indiana, all of whom picked them by a TD or more. Of course we all know the 8.5 pt spread

I’m more confident about this game than the Ole Miss or OSU games and a lot of ‘Cane fans seem to have the same vibe.

Are we all missing something, seeing things from Orange and Green glasses, too giddy just to reach this point?
"Coaches" could mean anything. This could be the assistant long snapping coach. Also many of those coaches may not have watched Miami play

You sound like a hyperbolic moron

But yes A&M beats both teams
A&M’s defense would have given up 40 points to Alabama and Oregon because they can’t stop the run and have a terrible secondary. Look at their schedule. They got lucky as **** at ND and then feasted on the bottom half of the SEC until they played Texas and got exposed.

Indiana is very disciplined. We MUST be as well. We were the first two games but we can’t do what we did vs Ole Miss with penalties. If we play clean then it may be 7+ point victory for Miami I believe.

Remember to get plenty of fiber to digest the boogers you’re eating

I think people are just unable to communicate why IU is so good because they are bucking talent trends. They just don’t beat themselves and if we play a clean game I do think that 4th quarter we can wear them down like we’ve worn everyone down late in games.
While each playoff game has had a different identity, all three ended with us driving late in the 4th to seal or win the game. That is where the OL advantage has shown. We all have been frustrated at Mario-ball before, but **** when it works it works. Wear them down early and crush them late.

If you guys haven't forgotten, I would like to remind you of this:

“Hands down, Notre Dame is better,” the coach said. “They’re one of the most complete teams in the country. Physically, when you look at them, they are so impressive. They’re a bigger, stronger and they’re a faster team than Miami. I know Miami won that game earlier in the year, but I think where Notre Dame is now, their confidence is through the roof. They made us look like a JV team out there. We were able to hang in there for like a half against Miami. We didn’t stand a chance against Notre Dame from the time we got off the bus.

“It’s the length of their corners, the size of their safeties. Their linebackers and defensive ends were so physical. They were much bigger in person than we actually thought. We got there and were like — whoa, this is a good-lookin’ team. You know that about their O-line but to see that from their secondary, really stood out. I didn’t feel that way about Miami. They’re just not as physically impressive.”

A second assistant, this one a running backs coach, also said that Notre Dame is better.

“Notre Dame impressed me more when we played against them,” he said. “When we played those dudes, those guys were ready to go. They were locked and dialed. They were more complete, at least when we played them. I didn’t feel like there was any true weaknesses.

“Miami was better up front defensively but Notre Dame was always in the right spot. I felt like we had to play a near-perfect game to beat them. They’ve always had athletic and physical linebackers. They have really good depth; they don’t get out of gaps in the run game and they don’t miss many tackles.”

Miami’s consistency, especially Beck’s, came up a few times with rival coaches.

“Miami is hit or miss offensively. When Beck’s on, he’s really good but their run game struggles a bit,” said the WR coach. “That’s where I think Notre Dame has the advantage. I don’t think Miami could run the ball on Notre Dame and they’re just trying to feed (wide receiver Malachi) Toney the ball a lot.”

distracted mistakes, dumb penalties, whacky turnovers--all can change a close game. I 100% believe we can keep this a close game if not run away with it. If we avoid the above--we win a close game; if not--well, we could easily lose a close game. I just don't see this team getting run over by anybody Oregon/Alabama style. I also wonder if the refs decided to tighten the noose on us after giving us relatively free reign in Houston and Arlington--so i also wonder which way the refs handle this game (PIs, targeting, roughing the passer).

If you show up to a game thinking "Whoa, this is a good-lookin' team," you're cooked before you step on the field. We've been showing up lately like, "Where are we going to stuff these bodies?"

I lot of people are caught up on the last 2 logos they beat…but those logos aren’t what they used to be.
One way to brush off the terrible choice of putting Alabama into the playoffs was by up-playing Indiana. It's not that Alabama was pathetic, oh no, it's that Indiana was sooo good. Oregon gifts them a big lead, and I mean gifts, and again, it's, "Wow! Oregon whooped Alabama AND Oregon!" Oregon whooped themselves, and it was too much to overcome. Plus, they simply aren't as good as the polls suggested. No one in that bracket was very good. I swear, we got ALL the good teams on out side, save Indiana.

People are hyper focused on the scores of their two playoff games, while completely ignoring the facts. Alabama sucks, and Oregon did their part in getting stomped. No one we played sucked or committed football suicide on the field against us. So yeah, our games were closer. Had Indiana played our stretch, they might not make it out of College Station.

I personally love the narrative around this game. They're the best team and we're lucky to be there. Our pass game sucks, we can't throw deep, their DLINE and LBs are the likes we have never seen, OMG why are we even bothering to show up.

The one thing i will say about our Offense is we have purposely played the CFP games like we have because it gave us the best chance of winning, not because we lack explosive players or our QB sucks.

We will line up and give them more of the same and Oregon moved the ball on the ground and i expect us to do the same.

Most likely. Is it impossible? No

But Indiana is very very good.

The game can go either way. National media and fans are impressed by how lopsided Indiana has won.

That being said, this Miami team is different. I'm looking forward to watching the entire team, and watching some absolute legends get to play one more game in the Miami uniform.

**** right. Until you get punched in the mouth.

Which is crazy because the better story is the U winning the National Title after 25 years in the wilderness.

for us it is. For the casual college fan IU (who has never risen to this level in football) is the prototypical Cinderella story
