Are we missing something

People are putting a ot of emphasis on Indiana beating down on Alabama and Oregon. The valid argument for Indiana is our secondary issues going against Me doza and Indiana's three receivers. We need to control the clock on offense and our dline needs to win their reps. If so, we should win.

Many of the TV personalities are younger and never watched Miami play when we were beating teams simply coming out of the locker room. It was the "Bama" effect they'll talk about of the the last 20 years but never mention where it started. The coaches continuing to downplay the team know what this impact felt like because they watched it as kids or were early in their coaching careers. To give Miami any credit whatsoever builds the brand and that's the last thing they want. When we win on Monday, the narrative on Tuesday will probably be we played the best that night but weren't the best team all season. Don't think for one second the media and/or opposing coaches are going to give us our flowers. The hate is real!

A&M’s defense would have given up 40 points to Alabama and Oregon because they can’t stop the run and have a terrible secondary. Look at their schedule. They got lucky as **** at ND and then feasted on the bottom half of the SEC until they played Texas and got exposed.

Well then good news for them because Bama’s run game stops itself.

If we play an equally clean game to Indiana, I don’t think they can beat us. That’s the challenge, they don’t make many mistakes. My guess is they will make more on Monday and we’ll need to make sure that is close to even. Early in the game is crucial. We need to let them know they are in a battle.

Indiana went from wildly underrated to somewhat overrated in the matter of a few weeks. Styles make fights and I think the Canes match up very well with them.

I lot of people are caught up on the last 2 logos they beat…but those logos aren’t what they used to be.
they exposed Moore and Simpson. Bama shouldn't have been in at all.

Moore admitted their defense confused him. Oregon was overrated all season and it was finally obvious.

I think if the Canes had beaten Ol Miss by another 2 TDS, the narrative would be different. According to the media, the Canes "survived".

You are not seeing things through orange and green glasses. We are substantially better than them on both lines of scrimmage and we will control the game that way.
This will happen in a dominating way IF they stop the stupid movement penalties . Cooper and Bell need to lock in - they are the biggest offenders.

On defense, Blay needs to do the same. And no stupid "unsportsmanlike" penalties for late hits.

They can do it. They HAVe done it.

If I was completely unbiased and hadn't watched Miami much, seeing them lose to Lville and SMU, being impressed on their playoff run but seeing Indiana have 1 or 2 close calls in the regular season but blowout Bama and Oregon in the playoffs, I'd probably lean Indiana as well.

But knowing what we have on the lines, how outmatched physically Indiana's Dline is, how good our DE duo is, if we play how we did against Ohio State (1 or fewer turnovers, limiting to 3-5 penalties) I'd be shocked if we don't win this game. I really don't see how they're going to stop our run game without bringing numbers and if they can't do that I love the idea of Toney, Marrion, and CJ in one on one situations. Beck doesn't even need to be on, just average and make the easy throws.
No turnovers we win.

Indiana has earned the hype. They've been the best and most consistent team in CFB all year and they have run roughshod through the playoffs so far.

They can (and will IMO) be beaten on Monday but they are a dangerous team and this game is going to be an epic challenge.

Survive and advance! Am I missing something?

Enjoy the game
Thank you, it’s the game that counts and we are playing with House Money. No one expected us to be here, certainly not me. But here we are and after two plus decades of hoping we could, we did and are , and the joy is glorious, Spot the Ball🙌🏽

So I read The Athletic article by Bruce Feldman on how 12 coaches all picked Indiana. Today driving to worked 4/4 panelists on the LockedOnACC podcast picked Indiana, all of whom picked them by a TD or more. Of course we all know the 8.5 pt spread

I’m more confident about this game than the Ole Miss or OSU games and a lot of ‘Cane fans seem to have the same vibe.

Are we all missing something, seeing things from Orange and Green glasses, too giddy just to reach this point?
I agree, Indiana has beaten Bama , not a vintage Bama outfit lucky to make playoffs, Oregon is just not there as a playoff team yet. take a look at Indiana vs PSU, Ped U should have won game. PSU big physical OL ran for 100 yards controlled clock. If not for missed FG OSU would have beaten Hoosiers, again OSU ran ball and controlled game. Iowa was close ( Ferentz is a helluva coach) gave IU all the they could handle. All prognosticators jumping on playoffs performance against sub par teams. We have schematic advantage on both OL/DL and it will be more of an advantage as game goes on.Beck is what most folks who are picking are hanging their hat on but Carson has been playing lights out, final drive against Ol Ms was as good as anything we have seen in college on last drive. He is playing with confidence.
Finally FWIW, its nice to be playing at Hard Rock but it is not some great home field advantage like the OB would have been………

I said to my 85 year old mother on the day of the ND game, we should win this game, I do not know if we will. Well we did. I feel the same way about this game. We should win it.

It's all the future bets that were put in prior to us making the playoffs at crazy odds they are worried about.
I am 1 of them. $15 pays $1,150. Put it in the night before they announced the CFP bracket. Need line to go down, so I can hedge the other side. Will wait until game day to decide if it is worth it. And as a '92 alum, please don't question my allegiance, I learned the hard way in '22 with the Eagles that you need to hedge the other side and TAKE the guaranteed money.

No turnovers, Control the line, Run the ball like we have and most importantly don't commit stupid penalties, and we win I believe even if Indiana plays a mistake free game.

I'm in the same boat. Hedged vs. Ole Miss, doing the same vs. Indiana. This one is significantly more expensive of a hedge however.
