Allison transferring

At this point I wouldn't bet against two of Perry, Weldon, and Art to transfer by 2019.

Are you hoping for only one or 2 QBs on the roster. Or did you just vomit out that opinion without even thinking it through?

Where did I say I'm hoping? Where did I say I'm rooting for that to happen?

What makes YOU think it will happen? You have zero basis or foundation to think that that would happen. I mean, one or two quarterbacks on the roster is a real bad position to be in. Just seems like you're pulling for that to happen, because you have no reason to think it would happen.

Hmm let's see, Richt was unable to convince Yearby and Gus when we desperately needed them back. And now we lose the only current QB on the roster from schools worth a ****.

So no, I do have reason to think it would happen.

That's just such a retarded opinion. Isn't there a board for slow people that you can post your retarded opinions on?

Did you watch UGA play? He hasn't changed his identity. Why the fck would he change his identity anyway knowing Kaaya was his QB? There's never been a more immobile QB in football. You make no sense.

He is in the process of changing it (personnel takes time). Any good coach will adapt to his players strengths. Kayak obviously couldn't handle what he was trying to do so we saw the offense change late in the season. I think you will continue to see little changes.. more QB runs, less FB, more spread, etc.

if the kid is leaving it is on the kid. he might have a good reason or he might have a bad reason but its on him. how do you fault the staff that clearly would play anyone at QB that gave them the best chance to win. when players leave 90% of the time its because they were buried on the depth chart and they thought they could play elsewhere.

So being down to 4 rb's is happening right now - two of which cannot be counted on at all, but it's retarded to think that the guys coming in with aspirations to start won't transfer out of here. Given Richt's track record I don't think its beyond imagination. He's proven that so far.

Richt stacking L's this offseason.

Allison was a tougher, stronger armed Brad Kayak with less accuracy, less intelligence.

Richt wants someone who can move.

The game/offenses are changing and strict pocket passers aren't the fit and/or as desired anymore.

Doesn't mean he wants a "running" quarterback. He just wants someone who's athletic enough to escape the pocket and make throws on the move or run for 10-15 yards if need be.

We saw what happened last year because Kaaya didn't have that ability, and it sounds like Richt doesn't think that Allison does either. Nor is he blowing the coaches away as a pure pocket passer after almost 2 years of practice.
Yeah let's slow down here. Kaaya was one tough SOB.

i agree he just wants a QB who could move, as opposed to a true duel threat.

It was my opinion, before the start of spring, that Allison and Shirreffs were fighting for the same roster spot ... And that the loser of that battle would transfer.

Clearly, I thought Allison would win it. So, I was wrong on that.

But I'm not the least bit surprised that the guy lower on the depth chart between those 2 is transferring. Makes total sense to me.

Perhaps I worded that wrong. Richt doesn't want a pocket passer.. but you are correct.

Yeah. That's why he recruited Jacob Eason so hard and got him to commit to UGA before he got fired.

I forgot he can't change identities on offense when starting over at a new school.. especially considering the local talent. It's not like he would run the 3-4 and then change over to the 4-3... Oh wait.

New article in the herald says the reason Allison left is that Richt wants a dual threat guy at QB for now and in the future according to his dad,

“He loves Miami. We all love Miami, but the whole direction of the program is they want a running quarterback – a dual-threat quarterback,’’ Allison’s father said. “They want a different wrinkle in their offense.

His dad sounds like a stage mom. He's making up trash to make his son quitting sound more palatable. Evan isn't exactly Mike Vick, and he's currently fighting for the starting job. Sounds like this is a case of daddy pulling the strings.

90% of the rest of CFB is looking fir a dual threat

He can't sell a guy on competing for the starting job? If not for this year next year? He can't get creative enough with a pitch to have him stay when for the sake of depth we really need him?

Richt has lost 4 players this year that were absolute position of need. I'm beginning to see a pattern.

Agreed. Anyone thinking about this critically for a few minutes and with some understanding of the mind set of p5 college football players (and the people around them) would have said whoever is lower on the totem pole between Allison or Shirreffs is likely leaving. I think most of us had just assumed it would be Allison on top based on the stars next to his name when he was recruited.

the same pattern you see at many other schools. kids are transferring all over the place these days.

Good luck to the kid. He moved on, so should we.

Pattern I am noticing is that these were all guys recruited by the last coach and were falling in the depth charts

Why do we "really need" Allison for depth? Rosier is a Jr. V. Testaverde is a So. Sherriffs is a So. Weldon is a Fr. Perry is a Fr. At best, Allison was 3rd on the depth chart this year, with Perry almost certainly passing him. I don't see how 4th string QB can ever be a "need." Sure, I'd love it if we could be 4 deep with P5 starting caliber QBs, but that is not the reality of college football.

What depth chart were the RB's falling behind? The other guys recruited by the same coach as walton and homer?

The four guys that could've stayed another year, now five with Jack, we lost this offseason were needed. Regardless if it was because they could contribute or they were just needed for depth.

I know it's the cool kid thing to say that our recruits are always disrespected by the services but....

How many highly ranked complete busts do we need to see come through here before we admit our guys are consistently overrated and overhyped because of the Miami name? We get the same stupid bumps other big name schools get but hey that doesn't fit the narrative.
