I Keep telling people First Round Development means a lot on the trail. It’s not all about the bag. That’s a cop out.

Realistically, you could say no SEC. The SEC won 1 title in the 80’s (UGa) 3 titles in the 90’s (Bama, Florida, Tennessee) 5 in the 00’s (LSU x2, Uf x2, Bama) and SIX this decade (Auburn, Bama x4, LSU). TEN of the last 14. The trend is self explanatory.

You can see the increase in titles by decade, but if you really want to look back on it, it was Saban that got integral pieces to go to Baton Rouge. Florida is in state so I’m not really critiquing them. He went to the NFL and came back to Bama but the rest is history. Everyone else in the Sec saw his blueprint and realized simply put, if you don’t have skill position players from South Florida you ain’t winning ****.

There’s a reason the big three won 1 out of 3 championships for three decades and now it’s been the opposite this decade. Skill position players (and a good QB) is the only way you win a title anymore and the secret is out. We’re a victim of our own success.
