Mendoza at California is night and day from Mendoza at at Indiana due to coaching,What?! **** we could have won with the Mendoza that nearly kicced our asses out in Cal Berkeley, last year.
Did we coach up Cam Ward and Carson Beck or did we just provide them with better supporting cast? Why yall keep saying this? Ward went number 1 overall and aside from a couple games where he morphed into TVD Beck has been solid, why would Mendoza not succeed here?
Not debating this at all.Mendoza at California is night and day from Mendoza at at Indiana due to coaching,
The let it rip version of Dawson is a good playcaller but outside of that…..who’s being developing QB from this Miami coaching staff?
I get it that most of the Heisman candidates and QBs with first round draft grades are portal QBs, however, we need a competent QB2
I’m not trying to diss the staff but we need ready to go QB who just need better offensive line protection and offensive weapons
Yup. Fernando was 22 and his brother berto was in same class as me in 24. Both at IUI know his Dad was a Columbus guy, but did the Heisman trophy winning son also attend Columbus? If so, that has to grind the gears of the Columbus Mafia in charge of this football team.
Ask FSU.Living and dying by the portal, what will happen when you inevitably strike out one year and end up with your 5th or 6th option?
Did we coach up Cam Ward and Carson Beck or did we just provide them with better supporting cast?
Did we coach up Cam Ward and Carson Beck or did we just provide them with better supporting cast?
Both
The success our portal QBs have had + the money we are willing to spend on a QB in the portal means it isn't "inevitable" IMO. It's way more likely we have a bad eval on our portal QB (who at worst will be option 2), than we end up with option 5-6.Living and dying by the portal, what will happen when you inevitably strike out one year and end up with your 5th or 6th option?
Agree. They were both 5+ year "seniors", so they had their fair share of "coaching up" when they arrived. Likely didn't need as much coaching up as they did WR's the didn't drop the ball (Beck) and an OL that can block (Both).Yes but I’d argue the supporting cast (especially OL in cam’s case) was much more impactful than coaching him up
lol what??? You think Mendoza was transferrng here to be coached up ?? You think Indianda developed him into a heisman QB in 5 months ? Mendoza was transferring because he wanted to be in a better situation just like them my guyDid we coach up Cam Ward and Carson Beck or did we just provide them with better supporting cast?
And what happens when you have an inexperienced home grown player who just sucks? lolLiving and dying by the portal, what will happen when you inevitably strike out one year and end up with your 5th or 6th option?
This is a hilarious narrative.Living and dying by the portal, what will happen when you inevitably strike out one year and end up with your 5th or 6th option?
It’s not ALL coaching, Indiana is in every way shape and form a better football team/program then CAL at the moment, Mendoza didn’t magically gain any traits he didn’t already show at Cal he’s just on a much better team & he fit like a glove thereNot debating this at all.
Did we coach up Cam Ward and Carson Beck or did we just provide them with better supporting cast?
Point out all the amazing home grown QBs FSU had before the transfer portal era. The answer is two in 20 years.Ask FSU.
Bro it’s like debating someone insane nothing you say matters and they’ll just throw whatever BS they can to defend their point..They act like Cam was Superman already and received 0 help from Miami lol smhThe lengths some of you will go is absolutely hilarious.
It must be exhausting when the evidence the last two years is to the contrary.
Did we coach up Cam Ward and Carson Beck or did we just provide them with better supporting cast?
