In a year with really weak quarterback production. Compare Mendoza’s numbers to any of the other Heisman finalists quarterbacks in recent years and they’re pedestrian. Not because he hasn’t played well. He’s been fantastic but because Indiana doesn’t ask him to throw a lot. What Quarterback in the modern era has won the Heisman while averaging under 230 yards passing per game?

This is exactly the matchup I want. We have to take care of business this week and then beat OSU (which I think we can, but haven't done a breakdown) so all this IU talkl take's a hit. Mendoza and IU have been great. I am waiting to see how losing their best DL, DE Daley celebrating after OSU is a hurt's them. Daley replaced Wyatt who was lost for the season about mid season. Daley is 2nd in tackles for loss in the country. No way the SO behind him isn't a big drop off. IU doesn't have that depth behind their 2 deep. The backup at RT that replaced Benson was destroyed all game by Curry at OSU. Destroyed! I don't believe their depth can hold up for 3 straight playoff /games. I liked IU in the bracket at 1st, but it is going to be tough for them. Then they are losing everyone after the season. We shall see if Cig can continue this miracle portal transformation one more time.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Most people didn’t think he can do this and the system in Indiana played a big role in his success. I give our staff a pass for this one.
