A few things

Dixon was the only guy who we really thought would be ours. Pelon never indicated he was coming here at all, that was always going to be a tough pull. Cook was a pipe dream, and the only reason we got a serious look was because of his friendship with Yearby, but they kid has seemed all along like he wanted to be anywhere but Miami.

IMO its much more important we keep Valentine, Kaaya, get Griffin qualified, and find another safety.

If we can add a kid like Hester, or JC, and keep what we have, this will still be an EPIC class. Would be great if we found a late JUCO kid at DT, but what can we do. Maybe we can still sway CJ to take the freaking online course. But what can we do about something like that? If a kid is that lazy, then what else can we really do?

Look, we knew all along that the closing of recruiting season was going to rough, since there wasnt much left on the table for us to add, and it would be a fight to hold the kids we do have. We have a MONSTER class right now, but we lined it up early, so it was bound to be anti-climatic.

People are sleeping on some of the studs we have. Courtel Jenkins is going to be a MONSTER IMO. Brady is a kid who many feel has the most upside of ANY of the receivers we have been after, including Dixon and Lane. Valentine is a MONSTER and if we keep him, he is going to be rocking it next year. Our OL class is the envy of the nation. Chad Thomas is going to be a beast here. Joe Yearby is an elite RB, and if Duke is healthy, and Gus gets another year of Utough and working on getting better, Duke, Yearby, and Gus will be a very strong running stable. IF we can get Griffin qualified, that will be a major boost.

Yes it would be nice to add a little more icing on the cake, but lets NOT for one moment overlook what a GREAT class this is. The biggest concern right now should be holding what we got, and making sure they qualify.

lol @ calling it a "moster class."

South Florida is more loaded than usual this year and we have 30 spots open. That's the only reason we're ranked high. Randy Shannon could have had just as high rated a class if he were still here this year, that's how loaded it is this year.

Who are the top kids in South Florida this year?

1. Chad Thomas - Cane
2. Sony Michel - MISS
3. Dalvin Cook - MISS
4. Treon Harris - MISS
5. Travis Rudolph - MISS
6. Joe Yearby - Cane
7. KC McDermott - Cane
8. Ermon Lane - MISS
9. Johnnie Dixon - MISS
10. JC Jackson - Maybe

We are missing out on an EPIC year in south florida, the most loaded year in a long long time. We only have 3 out of the top 10 kids committed.

That's not ****ing acceptable. Al Golden does not get a ****ing pat on the back for that.

He needs to close the deal on 7 or 8 of these kids, that's it.

Then go find a new team to "support" since you live in delusion. NO coach would be pulling all of those kids while still rebuilding, having a 10 year history of mediocrity, and coming off of 3 years of sanctions. Even if we had been winning for the past decade getting 7-8 of those kids would be a masterful and amazing recruiting job.

Excuses. How hard is it to convince a kid to stay home and put on for the city he grew up in?

This is a real stupid post. Real stupid.

One thing in all this bull**** is perfectly clear: the same group of ******** that made the main board unreadable are having the same impact here.

Fact. Not a rumor. No need for an insider.

Yeah it sucks. This board was great in its infancy. Now that it got big, its a competition who can say the most outlandish stuff, who can have the best schtick, etc.

I don't always agree with the way Pete and Tito do things, but the fact that the negative horse**** is allowed to outweigh their work, plus the work of Cameron, HG and ThreadKilla, is ruining the board.

It is not about oppressing discussion, but about reasonableness. The main board contains regurgitations of the same threads by the same posters for the last 6-8 weeks. We get it. The program is not where it should be and we are ****ed about it too. Bringing that negativity to the recruiting board is counterproductive at best. It has been made clear to us by the administrators of the board and the recruiting folks that players and families read the board. If the attack the program posse (veiled as the "telling it like it is crew") can educate the rest of us on how ****ting on the coaches, the school and the program helps us get the best players, maybe we can better understand how we can help you devalue the University of Miami to as many people as possible. In the meantime, I am going to follow the recruiting roller coaster, throw up a few times, and stand by the U - both by supporting and critically evaluating reasonably.

It's ok to disagree and present a valid point, but to say the same things for six weeks obviously changes nothing except the deterioration of the board, IMO.

What a stupid post. Kids been leaving SoFla for decades, even when Miami was winning 'ships. A lot of these kids have no loyalty, and why should they? Miami plays in an empty stadium, and its fans suck.

Whats crazy is certain people think that its so easy to tell a kid to stay home................ do some of these posters realize that 17 year old kids have a mind of their own and make the biggest decision of their lives for themselves?

what else could we possibly do with dalvin man... several in homes, official visit, teammates commited to UM, majority of his family wanting him at UM. i mean **** man

There's only one thig you can do: cut him a check.

You think Jimbo built this team of his on hidden gems? FSU got tired of being a joke, and they started buying national studs. You can't win today without buying recruits.
Actually starting to believe this...What is making kids go to Arkansas over UM...why has Florida State owned us in recruiting the last few years. these guys are getting top national recruits in addition to getting elite sfla recruits, while we get a few "elite" recruits (besides Chad who can we really call elite ?) and the rest are solid guys but not guys that you build a dominating team with like FSU has now...is Jimbo that good of a recruiter ? As soon as he stepped in it seems they pull 85% of the people they want...ridiculous

I already thought your post sucked. Then you dropped this nugget. Negged.
Can't bring myself to care at all... Chad and Valentine .. Who else ?
If you don't see that FSU has been out recruiting us since Jimbo got there then idk what to tell you

Yeah, F$U has been out-recruiting us, but they haven't had the NCAA hanging over them either. He also had the benefit of a head start by just waiting for Bobby to leave, not to mention the good fortune of getting to recruit against Randy (who didn't really bother with it) for the first year and a scrambling AG his second year. The trolls will shout "excuses!", and that's fine. They think we should get everyone.

Cook has been my favorite prospect in this class since Spring of his JR year. I also NEVER thought we'd get him. Why?

he verballed to Clemp$on his Jr year. that is the biggest red flag for a FL kid. he is getting paid. there is no doubt.

I would contribute (to the duffle bag for Cook) if we would get a real DC but I wont waste any of my time or money on this team until they are committed to winning.

Miami is an elite, medium-sized private school in a very large, dispersed, and diverse, metro area, and we haven't won much since the new crop of recruits have been developing as football players. You seem to think there's more of a connection to the school than there really is.

"Cool"? No. Reality, understandable, expected? Of course. Again, you want him to close on 80% of the most elite kids despite the past decade of mediocrity from which we are trying to emerge, and the NCAA issues. Even in 2002 (per your own attempt at bolstering your argument) we only got 7 of the top 10, and that was after fielding what many say was the best college team ever, and winning the national championship. So your expectations are ludicrously out of place.
