9-3.......Would you take it?

What really matters is that the BoT & Flake would not only take 9-3 but would wear it around as a badge of honor. The only way in which 9-3 doesn't end as a complete endorsement of the status quo would be an absolute beatdown by a team perceived as an equal or lessor in a bowl game.

8 or 9 wins is the absolute worse case scenario.

Even with 9 wins golden should be fired. This is year 5 and 9 wins in year 5 ain't ****. If he'd won 10+ and the coastal and the ACC in his previous 4 then 9 wins could have been overlooked. But he's done nothing to get the benefit of the doubt. Whether we look great in those 9 wins or not, he should be fired for that result but he won't be. **** he won't even be fired for 8 wins and probably not even 7

Honestly record wise 9-3 even 8-4 I think would be borderline acceptable (probably gonna get killed for this but oh well), but I would rather see this team finish with an 8-4 coming off a high note than a 9-3 or getting crushed at the end of the season. My point is record alone won't dictate whether or not we should be satisfied. How we finish the season is a major influence on what direction we think we are headed. Start strong and finish strong I think is extremely important regardless of record

Even if he went 9-3 we still aren't recruiting we'll enough to sustain a great eam yearly so it's fools gold.smart people know this

So you'd reward golden for significantly underachieving last season by accepting 8 wins. We just had 6 or 7 players drafted and a few others get taken as UDFAs. Why reward a coach by lowering expectations to making 8 wins acceptable when he failed so miserably. Regardless of how we look in those 8 wins or how we end the season.

keep in mind the media and acc writers have set the bar for Golden as a 6 or 7 win year...I think he is safe anything north of 7 wins

imo we are only good for 6 wins, so 9 wins would be a pleasant surprise. However, it would only be acceptable to me if one of the wins is against FSU and we win a bowl game to make it 10 wins total. do that, and i'll settle down a little bit.

Why are we trying to find scenarios to keep Al around as opposed to shooting him into the Atlantic via circus cannon? I don't care if Miami goes 12-0 wins the NC, and then WWE-style storms the field at the Super Bowl, challenges the Seahawks and the Patriots to merge into one super team and UM proceeds to beat that team by 60. If any of that happens it'll be in spite of Fat Back and his gang of dumb**** assistants, not because of.

Nobody is trying to bring Al back, the OP simply asked IF 9-3 would be acceptable and if in your opinion, Al would be back. Solid rant though...

NO. Alfraud already has a laundry list of fireable offenses. going 9-3 does not negate them. he should already be gone and is operating on borrowed time.

if somehow Grohlden lucked his way into 9-3, he would with 100% certainty get blown out in a decent bowel game vs. another 9-3 type team (see UL in the Rustled Bowel)

With the group of sophomores and juniors that we'd have returning for the following season, would 9-3 (I know we're still settling) be acceptable to give Al one more season?
