That's not a fix for law enforcement, that's already SOP for, I assume, every agency. It's inexplicable why this was not followed by these officers.

If there was even one shot fired during this "barricaded suspect" situation (and I believe the police account says there were multiple fired), it would automatically turn into an active shooter/breech situation anyways.

This is why elite units are elite. It's a combo of constant training, repetition, and mindset. I think a major issue is loss of manpower now though. This can be a chicken or the egg debate, but with the defund the police movement, there are less and less people willing to start a LEO career...

If they were hearing gunshots in the room they were standing outside of, they should have disregarded the stand down order due to exigent circumstances. It doesn't matter what the commanding officer said. You hear gunshots, you enter the room and stop them.

The officers inside were not perimeter. They should have immediately breeched the door using any means available. If they are like my dept every officer has either an AR or a shotgun. They had no reason to not put a slug through the lock and neutralize the threat.
