Now this I agree with. We have make than enough on paper via star rankings. And I am a proud star *****.

We have yet to see Mario let many TF eat right out of the gate at a skill position. Even Lofton who everyone couldn’t get enough of…didn’t play that much if we’re being honest. Yes I know, Arroyo was the goods. Yes I know, TF need to get acclimated to college. Yes I know, he let Mauigoa and OJ start immediately.

But eventually, sometime in this decade, I do hope one of our blue chip skill position guys on offense can grab the CFB world’s attention with some electrifying and dominant play.

It hasn’t happened yet, and maybe I’m pessimistic, but despite the rankings, I just don’t know if we have that type of player ready to go in 2025. And quite frankly, the development during his tenure at Miami hasn’t led me to believe these guys are all going to slot right in just fine. Jojo is my best guess, I have high hopes for him. But 1k season? I’m just truly not sure. And We’ll need something like that out of him if we want to win the conference.

Luckily, Dawson’s offensive style allows for easy acclimation. But that just means more pressure and higher expectations…because if we’re blaming WRs in 2025…lord help this board come December.
Good stuff

On one hand I look at 2024 skill wise and you gotta think JoJo, Carr, Chance, Lyle can make something happen

But then you look at 2023 (2022 let’s not even discuss with Horton/Young/Citizen) and it’s like well I thought the same thing there

2025 is getting some good hype with Moore, Pringle, Toney, Upshaw etc but between RB and WR recruiting we just are not bringing in enough talent to mitigate the inevitable misses

I do agree that I believe that Pruitt will never be big enough to be a true lb but I feel him as a safety is just another ZP someone who can go downhill and hit somebody but is going to get lost in coverage
Never know I believe he plays safety or transfers . He to small to play lb especially against big teams

There are countless examples of safeties converting to LB and having a ton of success. There are also many examples of LBs switching to DE and having success. However I can’t remember the last time we had a LB convert to Safety with success.

Not being argumentative but just curious if anybody can recall the last time we had success with such a move.
He isn’t a true LB. Pruitt was a DB in Hs. Dude was lining up everywhere. Even saw him return a kick and play wr. They recruited him as a LB because he was physical on film. But I don’t think he has the frame to put on much weight

Because he thinks a true freshman and a rising sophomore with 90 yards of production in a game are going to blow the roof off this year like it’s the NCAA video game
It happens every year in cfb. Why can’t it happen here? Why can’t our top 50 recruit at wr take the next step in year 2 like people have been claiming he has?

Why do you think WRs are the least of our concern?

Especially when we just saw Beck struggle immensely after losing Ladd and Bowers because guys like Arian Smith, Dillon Bell, Dominic Lovett, Colbie Young etc weren’t remotely close to those players?

Jojo, Daniels, Ray Ray, Carr, Bauman, Toney etc are undoubtedly closer to the latter group than the former…

Beck needs someone elite to throw to, or at the very least - undoubtedly reliable. We failed him in this regard.
Jojo carr toney and moore are all elite players

If we are being honest..there weren’t any “box office” level players who hit the spring portal. If we had spent major money on any of the kids that we had interest in the board would have gone nuclear. No way you overpay for Pena. Or any of those DTs..If you want to get mad at Mario because he’s not tampering as well as you would like then fine..but I’m happy we didn’t desperately overpay for any of the names I saw us linked to.

Dont even need to talk about anything else right now unless it's about Haulcy. Haulcy can lead us to a natty on Defense and can be a first round pick

Question is..how much we willing to pay for him? Some poster said 1M. Is that his market value? Truly asking because I don’t know..

This board makes me laugh man.

We’re closer to 9 wins than a natty, with or without him 😂😂😂

I mean that’s pure delusion dude. There’s not a single position on this roster that’s national title contender worthy except maybe edge, if Lightfoot has a Colin Simmons-type year like Texas endured.

Playoffs? Sure.

I see you aren't familiar with @TouchMoney26 's work.

You're in for a treat then.

Would I be crazy to think the plan at Safety is moving Damari Brown or Bobby Pruitt there? Or we have a plan for a transfer?
I'm hoping they rotate Damari back there with Poyser & Haulcy

He’s was max 190lbs coming into Miami. We are pretty much asking him to add on 30+ while still being my able to move relatively well. Now is it possible yes, but highly unlikely. We will see though 215lb ain’t gonna cut it unless he’s just that guy, he’s gonna have to play at a minimum of 225lbs to be effective in the run.
