You don’t think in college being able to play the entire field is better ? I get he’s the best cb however being able to read and Play qb of the d might be better at this level
They tried Brantley at nickel, that didn’t work out. That sounds cool in theory but right now we do not have the he depth to be playing musical chairs with the lack of talent and depth we have on this defensive roster. That’s just my opinion.

yeah but arroyo had two of those. don't see the harm in bringing in someone that was with hetherman for 2 years who last performed at a really high level. if it doesn't work, no harm as it's a 1 year rental
Arroyo only had 1. Don’t know if people realize but he actually came back in 2023 but he just wasnt himself. This toure guy is coming off his 2nd tear in like 3 years

Would I be crazy to think the plan at Safety is moving Damari Brown or Bobby Pruitt there? Or we have a plan for a transfer?
Pruitt should be at safety. He is the same size as brown and Lucas and they trying to make him a LB

@DMoney are you allowed to be critical or are you holding off for the time being?
You won't get brutally honest reporting here until coaches/players are gone. While they have a U on their shirts and jerseys, you'll get spin jobs. CIS isn't going to risk losing access.

wr's is the least of our concern, we shouldnt and we don't even need to be discussing wr's

haulcy or bust , we find out tomorrow
Why do you think WRs are the least of our concern?

Especially when we just saw Beck struggle immensely after losing Ladd and Bowers because guys like Arian Smith, Dillon Bell, Dominic Lovett, Colbie Young etc weren’t remotely close to those players?

Jojo, Daniels, Ray Ray, Carr, Bauman, Toney etc are undoubtedly closer to the latter group than the former…

Beck needs someone elite to throw to, or at the very least - undoubtedly reliable. We failed him in this regard.

Define being “ready” because my definition may be different, and I do not feel comfortable asking sophomores to do more than being rotational players. Which is what we need to compete with the big boys.
Said this in another thread but Mario’s 2023 class not a single player has “developed” into making an impact

We’ve got 3 and they played from Day 1 (Bain, Mauigoa, Fletcher)

There’s still time but this hope that the 2024 class is gonna make the jump is tenuous at best. I see some potential there for sure but so far it’s been either guys got it or they don’t with Mario

That 23 class looks like a joke now. Most are gone or haven't done a **** thing.

Because he thinks a true freshman and a rising sophomore with 90 yards of production in a game are going to blow the roof off this year like it’s the NCAA video game

I like the 2024 class a lot but it’s hard to look at 2022 and 2023 and just say whelp these 2024 guys will fix it

Defensively, the 25’ class will resemble the 23’ class room.

Jojo Trader Top 50 overall recruit, Top 10 WR
Ny Carr #67 overall recruit, Top 15 WR
Ray Ray Joseph #135 overall
CJ Daniels 6th year RS Senior 24 year old w/ college production
Malachi Toney blue-chip recruit
Josh Moore blue-chip recruit
Daylyn Upshaw blue-chip recruit
The BYU kid

I’m not going to say it’s the least of our concerns, that’s silly. We lost a ton of production. But we have 6 blue-chip recruits, one being a borderline 5-star his whole career, a kid in Daniels who should be able to replicate what we got from Horton.

If you’re gonna make your bones as a HS recruiter, those recruits gotta play. I’m not sure you’re gonna find a lot of programs in the country who wouldn’t trade their rooms for ours. That’s a lot of talent. It hasn’t produced yet.

Clemson won the league last year and had a top 20 offense with their 2nd and 3rd leading receivers being true freshmen.

We have plenty of talent. Coach it up and let it roll.

Now this I agree with. We have more than enough on paper via star rankings. And I am a proud star *****.

We have yet to see Mario let many TF eat right out of the gate at a skill position. Even Lofton who everyone couldn’t get enough of…didn’t play that much if we’re being honest. Yes I know, Arroyo was the goods. Yes I know, TF need to get acclimated to college. Yes I know, he let Mauigoa and OJ start immediately.

But eventually, sometime in this decade, I do hope one of our blue chip skill position guys on offense can grab the CFB world’s attention with some electrifying and dominant play.

It hasn’t happened yet, and maybe I’m pessimistic, but despite the rankings, I just don’t know if we have that type of player ready to go in 2025. And quite frankly, the development during his tenure at Miami hasn’t led me to believe these guys are all going to slot right in just fine. Jojo is my best guess, I have high hopes for him. But 1k season? I’m just truly not sure. And We’ll need something like that out of him if we want to win the conference.

Luckily, Dawson’s offensive style allows for easy acclimation. But that just means more pressure and higher expectations…because if we’re blaming WRs in 2025…lord help this board come December.

We need to play them , Moore is that big body we need . Toney and upshaw can open the field with their speed . We either use them or they transfer 🤷‍♂️

There are countless examples of safeties converting to LB and having a ton of success. There are also many examples of LBs switching to DE and having success. However I can’t remember the last time we had a LB convert to Safety with success.

Not being argumentative but just curious if anybody can recall the last time we had success with such a move.

Pruitt might be a good safety . He played that in highschool . Someone is getting moved if we whiff the question who
I do agree that I believe that Pruitt will never be big enough to be a true lb but I feel him as a safety is just another ZP someone who can go downhill and hit somebody but is going to get lost in coverage
