Did you read my post? What you wrote also makes 0 sense. If you don't think clear quality can effect movement then you never played the sport. Take it from someone who has to play in cheap cleats before you don't move the same. If a player is quick bad cleats won't make him slow but they may limit his movement
I play soccer, lack of quickness is due to lack of quickness. Not because of the cleats. Theres a ****load of college players with Adidas or Under Armour cleats and they dont seem to have a problem with it.

I see your just determined to not read my entire post. Your opinion is your opinion.

You're saying Miami has a quickness problem potentially because of cheap cleats. Miami doesn't have cheap cleats, the end.

Miami has a quickness problem because of training, because of lack of athletic ability, because of injuries, because of a lack of correct fundamental movement. Thats not an opinion, thats factual.

Change cleats to Nike and nothing will change. Guys will continue to fall down.

One thing that occurred to me on my way home was that there wasn’t a single offensive play that had me scratching my head - even the ones that gained no yards. At times, I felt that Lashlee would call a play that didn’t necessarily make sense (and I loved Lashlee), even against inferior competition. I rewatched the game and doubled down on my conclusion. I hope I’m still saying that against Texas A&M, but for now I’m pretty impressed.

Just finished re-watching the game....some thoughts....
* our edge containment needs to improve quickly...
* our tackling is still so-so at best
* LBers?? Jesus Christ.....I hope before I'm dead, that I see a semblance of Old school UM LBers...
* Ivey??....what's left to be said??...Has Absolutely no business as a UM starting DB....None
* Love Parrish
* Love Restrepo (very Berrios-ish)
* Love TVD
* Love Gil

@SWFLHurricane I appreciate that you start with the problems given it was Bethune and anything we see vs. them will only be magnified against decent-to-good P5 teams. Ivey and Flagg popped out to me as the biggest gaps. We couldn't contain the QB on several scrambles. And crossing routes and RB checkdowns/screens were mishandled all game. We also had a completely busted coverage on a pass to the RB who took it to the house. Had to have been a LB or S responsible there.

Tons of positives. But those issues above are going to be very hard to correct. Coaches have their work cut out for them if we want to win the Coastal, much less pop off A2M and Clemson.

ATM is scheming up plays today to exploit Flagg, like most, I am now concerned with the defense against the big boys. Need a two big weeks on that side of the ball. LFG....
Texas A&M didn’t show me anything other than we could beat them. They couldn’t run the ball on Sam houston and if we could find the right matches at db we will be ok

@DMoney did Jaden Harris get any burn?

Also I know it was really only a play of two but Markeith Williams stood out

Love seeing the athleticism back there
That was a great play by Markeith. He saw it fast and pulled the trigger.

Harris got burn at nickel. That’s his role for now and he is an injury away from real snaps. Strong, mature and twitchy.

I just love the difference between coaches in over their heads last few years, and coaches who know what they need to do this year. To paraphrase someone, we have a car that seems can be driven, rims and all that will come in time. I’m gonna let Mario do his job, he’s won me over so far with what I saw yesterday.

Lots of good stuff posted here already.

We did have two runs for losses yesterday in the 4th quarter, I believe. But overall, as many have stated, it was great to see no letdown by the backups on the OLine. That happened way too often in the past. Rewarded and pumped up the walk-on RB's to run hard, hard. Happy to see those guys be productive and get to celebrate.

I'm happy w/ the game. No major injuries is always a huge plus.

The O being darn efficient while not being complicated was a sight. The D surprised me w/ some of their struggles (i.e. containment, finishing pressures. some missed tackles and being caught flat footed). Thankfully, all can be corrected either through coaching and/or who gets PT.

Last point is, that someone mentioned not a single BCU player would make our roster. I respectfully disagree. They had a handful of players that could contribute, imo. Would they be starters or stars, prolly no. But they had some kids that could play at Miami and many other P5 programs.

Thanks man

For as much talk about Steele’s defense and being complex, guys thinking too much etc I think we saw a lot of the opposite

James Williams INT was a good example. Just see play, react, make the play

The defensive line got out of sorts early but I guess that’s to be expected in tune up games

I still believe Steed , GF, CJ and Keontra will get the most burn as the year unfolds.

Cribby what's going on with Chase Smith?
I really thought he would've grabbed a more prominent role by now. Is the injury hold him back? Really thought he was going to be a star for us.
