It’s just the human not the cleats even though Redding looks like he is playing in high top baseball cleats the way he runs.

Soccer players have been wearing addidas for a very long time and they are fast and cut on a dime. It’s the athlete not the cleats
That is a good point about soccer players but I don't think those cleats or their molds are the same as American football cleats. Mallory and Redding are 2 guys that got injured and never seem to run the same. My larger point was though that none of our runners really look smooth or show crazy change of direction.

Because we don’t have elite players. We don’t have 1st or **** even 3rd talent at our skill positions. Ppl need to realize and stop being blinded by false hope that we got some elites dudes on offense. We got TVD and some good college players. Enough to win most games but nowhere near where top programs are. That’s just the reality.

Just finished re-watching the game....some thoughts....
* our edge containment needs to improve quickly...
* our tackling is still so-so at best
* LBers?? Jesus Christ.....I hope before I'm dead, that I see a semblance of Old school UM LBers...
* Ivey??....what's left to be said??...Has Absolutely no business as a UM starting DB....None
* Love Parrish
* Love Restrepo (very Berrios-ish)
* Love TVD
* Love Gil

Will see if it changes as season goes on but even with nfl qb @Liberty City El already told us dont expect much throwing to outside wr. In this offense Restrepo, TE and backs will eat.. Dont think outside guys do much but block in this O, barely got any targets this game. Hopefully this is more of a establish run against inferior opponent type thing but we will see in future weeks but we were warned, lol..
I think that was more because Michigan didn’t really have anything outside

Steele will need to scheme to the DL’s strengths. We have speed and power but lack a flexible dude with bend that can win purely on pass rush moves.

Excellent point about flexibility - it’s why I was hoping to see Thomas Davis more in the spring game his bend was strong.

Agude is a strong *** dude but he goes REALLY wide every play. Good teams will counter inside against him often.

You can tell that it will take time to get rid of some of that very poor coaching that we had over the past several years. Just like it did with the O-Line, although the run blocking struggled, we at least could pass protect with Justice being the coach. Now, the O-Line had a consistent basis with Justice to build on. The entire defense didnt have that with Manny.

I agree it's starting to look like that. I just don't understand not even trying any go routes against Bethune like when are we going to practice them.

On my point about player movement watch Jeff Thomas and Braxton Barrios movement in their highschool highlights then watch their miami. Most of the time when they would try to make those same cuts they would fall here

Taylor's development is noticeable and he coming. He will be a trench monster and a force the next two tears.
Pulling for Redding, a grinder and a good kid. I always thought that if he were given the opportunity he would be productive.
Some family members here were writing him off...not so fast my fam.

I hope your right but I literally only remember 3 throws to the outside receivers yesterday. One 10 yard pass to Redding and two 8-10 yard passes to Ladson. I don't understand that. Did Keyshawn Smith even get one ball thrown his way yesterday?

Could be the spike length. But lots of teams play in addidas

Why put stuff on tape for A&M? No reason to show your go routes etc… we will see more against southern miss I’m sure. We scored 70 and didn’t have to show anything.

The flipping of the LB room is underway fellas, we have some monsters coming. I’m all for taking Clark and bringing in 4 AND searching for an established portal guy at MIKE. We need maximum competition in that room to bring the best out of the pups and23 signees.

Lack of players quickness has nothing to do with the cleats.
Did you read my post? What you wrote also makes 0 sense. If you don't think clear quality can effect movement then you never played the sport. Take it from someone who has to play in cheap cleats before you don't move the same. If a player is quick bad cleats won't make him slow but they may limit his movement

Why put throwing to the outside receivers on tape seriously as if every college doesn't expect to see that anyway. Why not practice throwing a few deep balls in game situation?

We will see more as the season goes on. You don’t think they throw deep passes in practice and scrimmage when they are up against our #1 defense who is playing 100%. Reps are reps.
