Can’t repeat this enough - Flagg and Ivey does not belong on the field!

Cribby what's going on with Chase Smith?
I really thought he would've grabbed a more prominent role by now. Is the injury hold him back? Really thought he was going to be a star for us.
He’s behind some. He played quite a bit on st’s. If some guys don’t step up it’ll open the door for guys like WB , chase and Graves / MC at cb.

We have a lot to work on and it was good to see Marion show that he was not satisfied with significant mistakes and his circling the troops after the taunting call showed he is one hundred percent in charge and we will see fewer penalties and more discipline with progress each and every week. Manny's main problem was his lack of authority and command. Mario is like Butch where he is fully in charge and players earn the RIGHT to be a Hurricane.

Because when players have been around CFB at the FBS level for as long as he has (5 years), they know how to practice at a high level and learn new playbooks fast. Coaches love that kind of stuff. Even if he can’t execute at the highest level, he knows where to be. That’s why you got Flagg winning jobs as well. Also, from all reports Ivey is book smart as well.
So Ivey can pick up the playbook, smart player, has the prototypical size and strength for a corner 1, clearly isn’t slow …

Wtf isn’t clicking? Because every time there’s a big play, you see number 8 throwing his body at the air or completely out of position to come up with a play.

my thoughts:

my takeaways from the game:

- Miami didn't come out flat they were pumped and ready to play.

-Offense looked organized ,
Gattis called a great game. WRs for all the **** they took in the offseason had zero drops and answered the call.
- Offensive Line was very good. Mirabal@ks the goods and we look stout. They made Parrish look like a 5 star.
-Corey flagg is too slow and DJ Ivey continues to get beat. Those 2 need to see their snaps significsntly decrease by game 3.
- Defense is a work in progress. Why are we recruiting so much speed? The BC QB and the WR Miller made huge plays because of their speed. Cant wait for CJr, Robbie and Joseph to get here. We need more of that in Miami.
-Lbs still look suspect. Flagg barelymade any plays, Keontra with a big mistake led to TD. Those mental lapsees against this caliber type team are unnaceptable , imagine when you start playing cs the big boys.
-Secondary needs to improve... Stevenson struggled with speed
-Special teamslooked awesome.. night and day than the yearbefore.
-TE was blah.. Mallory didnt impress much.

Looking for some serious improvement and hoping Caleb Johnson and Chase Smith get more comfortable soon. A good game for Miami with glaring weakeness still. Hoping we improve as the season goes along.

I was really happy to see Mario getting after the guys on the sidelines after the interception. We can argue that it was a bullsh*t flag imo but nonetheless we’ve always said Miami is treated differently by the refs.

When Mario was letting them have it everyone of those players were looking right at him. You could see how he commands a room. I haven’t seen a coach do that in god Knows how long… probably Butch.

Furthermore hes response to the media about the play was excellent. He praised Smith up and down also let it be known he expects more from them.

I thought the WR group (albeit in a very limited sample) was more than fine. DL need to make a big jump.

Why wasn't Sagopolo dressed yesterday?

Why is Harvey lined up 1/2 - 1 yard off the ball as opposed to everyone else (DE's)?

Someone mentioned tackling, but agility (change of direction) appears to be just as big of a problem for JW.

Kinchens isn't only our best S, may be our best DB.

Steed made some plays; missed a couple too. Has he fully recovered agility-wise?

Moultrie got the sack, but off the twist Roberts pressure forced him to 44.

Fair point. Sam houston shouldn’t have been able to hold up like that but they played a better team than we did. Sam might not lose another game.
Was watching game before ours, run game couldnt get going.. They hit on some explosive plays with Anais but Haynes left a few balls up for grab and Sam Houston only grabbed two, I would say they dropped two more early.. He really leaves the ball in play it seems for the defense.. Thats encouraging.. lol..
