Not sure I've heard D.Brown mentioned at nickle for a while, and any move to safety seems like fan speculation.
I say that because he is versatile and he recently made a comment that he will play anywhere they need him.

Bro respectfully you don’t know ball. Those BAMA and UGA teams. Opened holes and those backs made some house calls. Also didn’t OSU just have backs making all types of plays and scoring? It wasn’t a ball control offense either. So what games were U watching?
And our mammoth offensive line opens up holes as well. We had a top five run game last year, so what games are you watching?

I believe two years in a row we led the nation in yards before contact for running backs

If we had 5 star running backs up and down the roster like Bama and UGA used to then yeah we’d be doing that too

The “tight splits” thing has been thoroughly explained and debunked but it’s still some bizarre rallying cry

Maybe we misunderstanding each other. I say our run game can and needs to be more explosive. Maybe it takes creativity or better backs. I think Lyle is our HR hitter. He will get opportunities, but the run game looked very unimaginative.

This isn’t directed at you really but when Lashlee was here he was TRASHED for his lack of creativity in the run game

Then last year this board was kissing his *** for how he used Brashard Smith

No one has really ever been able to explain the “creativity” thing (I don’t think it’s a thing personally) but we played to our strengths at an elite level last year

Maybe it changes a bit this year based on personnel but who knows

We would have still beaten ISU in the bowl game if we kept running it when Emory was in. Or Syracuse if we just rode Martinez 8.4ypc clip. We just lined up and beat them up. What’s the deal with being “creative” when it’s not getting stopped?

Also just to add I’m not suggesting Dawson is some infallible perfect OC. I’ve just not really seen the evidence here

I’ll take unimaginative, if it equals a top five run game in the country. That’s just my opinion.

Wanna know what's crazy, too? People only kissed his *** because they love you when you're gone, and it held true for Brashard and Rhett.

Brashard had a great year, and Rhett helped him become a 7th round pick, which likely wouldn't have happened here.

But you know how many carries he got last year? 235! And of qualified ball carriers, you know where he ranked in yards per carry?

95th.

But if you listen to this board, while we had THE NUMBER ONE OFFENSE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, mind you, you'd think Brashard Smith was Roger Craig playing for Bill Walsh.

Lashlee had the same offense last year that he had here. SMU averaged 6.01 yards per play last season, good for 41st in America. You know how many he averaged when he was at Miami with D'Eriq King in 2020? 6.02 LOL.
