Bethel didn’t start at corner because he was their most dynamic receiver. Northwestern has two Power 5 corners who’s arent as good as Bethel on offense.

We shouldn’t use his versatility against him. He was a key player on a champion Northwestern team.

I don't disagree... He is a very good athlete!

Where's LuCane when you need him?

Miami has won 5 championships cause of kids like Bethel. Great athletes that other squads passed up that become stars. It's not all about recruiting rankings folks.

Please leave Bethel alone. Save the ship for next year.

They wanted him enough to offer him whether the elite guys came or not. Only reason he's not here is bc he and his handlers were feeling themselves a lil too much.

Fair enough.

Not referring to you with this comment obviously, but a lot of posters here were enjoying schadenfreude at UF's expense when Bethel committed to the Gators. Lots of posters were boasting about how they were stuck with another Randy Shannon special before Mullen pushed him out. But the tune seems to have changed now that he may be a more realistic option for us after Jobe & Samuel have signed elsewhere.

I find the 180 on the part of some others to be ridiculous. It all comes down to Campbell, anyway. If he comes, everyone will be beyond thrilled regardless of whether Bethel is allowed to commit. If he doesn't and Bethel's the only DB we add between now and NSD, that's an entirely different story.

There was also a bunch saying he was a good pickup ( myself included).

We need DTs and Oline. Current DB class plus TC is A+ already

We need another top tier DT and a top tier Oline not Bethel
We have a lot of talent at DB we need more talent at DT and OLine

Yeah, we need Campbell. Although I wrote Campbell up as a corner, people keep telling me to watch him as a potential safety.

Here are Bethel's senior highlights. Atwell cost him a few long touchdowns on overthrows.

Curious to see what he runs in track this year. He still has a PR of 10.78 from his sophomore year. If he improves as a senior, he'll probably surpass Jhavonte Dean (10.73) and be the fastest corner on our team Day 1.

Nigel Bethel Jr. has the skills to sign in any class as an Athlete

Do NOT want.

This would straight up be an Al Golden move....whiff on all the studs and so you have to sign a 3-star plan C guy instead.

This is how we ended up with Knowles and Redwine starting for us.

Sign Campbell and Surtain. If you're gonna whiff on the studs, then get a grad transfer and save the ship for next year.

DO NOT take some scrub just because. Total Al Golden move.

I don't care if Bethel is fast. He's 160 lbs and has a thin frame. He's Terrance Henley 2.0, except at least Henley played CB in High School. The idea that he'll ever be able to tackle at this level is laughable

He'd be a waste of a scholarship, just like Jeff James was. Let him go to FIU or UCF

Dmoney I dont see him ever playing for Miami as a db but he could be a piece on offense but even that’s a reach imo. A Dime a dozen in South Florida let’s be real about the situation

Exactly. The kid is rated 3 stars for a reason. He is NOT under the radar....dude plays at the most heavily watched/visited/recruited school in America. Every scout in the country has been to Northwestern this season.

If he were any good, he would have some elite offers and a good star ranking.

Pass on this kid.

Al Golden never signed the class Richt just did. Never.

Bethel is a great athlete and our staff offered him last summer when they saw him play CB.

Rumph convinced another great athlete to play CB and that kid is Tyson Campbell whom u get wet over.

Signing a great athlete is never a bad idea.

Bethel is a different level from Redwine and Knowles. He is literally a track star and would be top 3 or 4 fastest players on our team currently.
