Here's what the "people in charge at 247" posted last night - it did NOT help anything:

Hey guys, full story here on what went on with the ranking for Jayden Wayne today:

247Sports was able to add On3 rankings and ratings to the 247Sports Composte just over a month ago, but like with any new tech it came with its share of bugs. Most have since been cleaned up but a fix for one that unfortunately directly affected this situation is still in the works.

The bug: When a player transfers high schools, naturally all the existing ratings and rankings on his profile transfer along with it to the new institution, but the for some reason the On3 rankings were not transferring like the others. So when Wayne's profile was moved to IMG Academy last month the On3 rankings did not move with the others and it was not noticed at the time. That caused a slight bump up for him in the Composite.

After he committed, the missing rating was noticed by someone on the backend and added back (worst timing ever I know!) and that moved him back to his rightful spot in the Composite at No. 41. Since the Composite five-star range is currently much larger than the five-star range at this point for any of the individual services (37 5-stars in Composite at this time as opposed to four 5-stars for 247Sports, 19 5-stars for Rivals, 10 5-stars for ESPN and 15 5-stars for On3), the bump was enough to have him in that range while it was missing.

It's just a bad look all around and really bad timing I know and our sincerest apologies for that. This was the worst case scenario for this issue to rear its ugly head but the priority for a fix has been moved up to avoid any future similar issues. Again, sorry for the confusion and congrats to The U for adding one of the nation's top players!

People really went after this guy. He was asked if Jayden Wayne is the only adjustment made, are all rankings going to be reviewed now, etc....

Also a very legit point was made as to why they felt the need to do it at the moment he committed. Why not just make the adjustment at the next rankings update? That's coming up sometime in the not too distant future..... No response to that, of course....

Now I’m not defending 247 here because it’s well documented how much of a scam they are. But honestly, this is a very plausible story. Engineers miss **** all the time. This was likely an easy fix and they fixed it when they noticed. I can guarantee you they were not concerned about the optics or timing of this.

Obviously looks bad in hindsight but I don’t buy in to this Miami vendetta that some people think 247 has against us. They’re just solely focused on top line, revenue, growth, adding subscribers to Paramount + steaming network, etc. Just a poorly run organization.

On3 is the bigger fückboy in all of this. The founder has now sold off 2 recruiting websites. Rivals to yahoo and 247 to CBS.
On3 will be his next. He’s strictly in it to generate clicks, grow user base, and then sell off to the next conglomerate. Fox? Disney aka ESPN? Point is they have Wayne at like 93rd overall which dragged him down to 4 star.

Still a beast and this means nothing in the long run.

Yall need to stop with this why do yall care. You know who cares? The other kids you are after. You think it doesnt matter to Cormani and players like that UF is trying to surround him with compared to the ones he maybe playing with at Bama and Here? It matters to them so it matters. I never really cared about top much until i blatantly saw what they did yesterday.

This drop in rankings has been happening for years now.

It doesn't matter because the player remains the same, but its still obvious that this is not a technical issue.

That’s great and all, but the problem still lies with the fact that On3 actually lowered the kids rating.

On3 needs to be left out of the composite. They are garbage run by garbage SEC homers.

Same group who wrote ridiculous articles about Rashada’s NIL.

Does On3 show rankings history like 247?

Ya'll really spent your Saturday nights complaining about star rankings bruh? :pgdead: :pgdead:
It’s genuinely unbelievable the amount of dummies in here who got their panties in a bunch over this. Just be glad we got another 5 star DE stud. Who gives af if they dropped him

Best case scenario is that Jayden goes to IMG and wrecks shop…..gets back the 5* by the end of the year
