I would bet on it. Mario is not trying to be the smartest guy in the room. He sees how bad our QBs look. TVD is a good player and the other two have talent. It shouldn’t be this bad.
Thank you 🙏

I just can't believe he was dumb/naive enough to to want to go in the complete opposite direction after seeing what TVD/Lashlee was successful with last year.

We went from uptempo/spread to slow and methodical.

I know he probably hated our running game from last year (like we all did) but it's just baffling to believe he was willing to sacrifice scoring points and high flying offenses with a gunslinging QB so he could get a physical offense that could run the ball.

This absolutely has to be rock bottom. In past years I feel the hope was knowing the staff would be gone soon and we would finally get a good coach if by luck. But Mario isn’t going anywhere in a long time. Every aspect of the program has regressed outside of recruiting. I don’t see a reason to believe any amount of talent will get us where we want if four stars can’t play Duke and MTSU competitively.

For the first time I feel absolutely no hope, no optimism.

I guess we are better than VT and maybe Nebraska. I don’t really drink but that may need to change.
We still have to lose to GT

D$ I know you’re connected, so you can’t just say certain things.

But why should we have faith in Mario ever changing his offensive philosophy?

Gattis is horrible, but still that was Mario’s choice.

Oregon looks like a playoff contender due to thier offense that never looked like that once under Mario.

1st year coaches all over college is doing more with much less. Due to this offensive schemes.

Again, why should we have faith in Mario.

He seems stubborn. And not willing to recognize how big of a problem his offensive mindset has held him back.
Because we have no other choice as he's here for a long time no matter what, that's honestly the only reason.

Mario is realistic and he has no personal system. We haven’t scored a touchdown in a fortnight.
Any insight into how much Mario does meddle with the offensive play calling on game day? I know Gattis is complete trash but I'm curious how much Mario might interfere if he actually does bring in an innovative offensive coordinator.

It's obvious to anyone with a brain and any semblance of football IQ that Gattis will/should be fired.

But I'm going to take it one step further and say something very specific that I think NEEDS to happen with the new OC hire.

It needs to be a former head coach. It's obvious Mario could really use/leverage some gameday help on the sideline. For this regime to work, Mario has to be our Ed Orgeron. He simply has to be flanked by two top notch coordinators otherwise this entire thing is doomed before it starts. Mario has one function...to be the face of the program and to close recruits in the living room.

He should be looking at guys like Dan Mullen or Bobby Petrino. You hire either of them with ZERO recruiting responsibilities and have them be completely responsible for the offense. I don't think there's a chance in **** we can get Petrino but it would be worth a try. He's basically in football Siberia right now at Missouri State, getting up there in age, and might want one more crack at the limelight without the pressures and responsibilities of being a head coach.

Here's what I know for sure....the right coordinators can turn any program around in a hurry. There are examples of it littered all over college football.

Trust me it’s over. Also something you failed to mention… Mario is here for at least 6 years so if he’s not the guy like I don’t think he is… the program is officially dead and 6 feet into the ground with no return. Randy’s era felt like the final nail but it really wasn’t. Make no mistake Mario is
