Corley has proven nothing.

He might be able to recruit here and there, but he's still an unproven OC.

He's never developed a QB.

who's this corley you speak of? haven't found him on the staff... is he a ga or something? if so that's a lot to put on a newbie, running the offense is for an oc I thought. guess I'm confused.

Negged.

Writing off Olsen before fall practice even starts is short sighted at best. Can we let this play out before we claim he is washed up?

What QB has Coley developed? Sure wasnt at fsu. But then again we will really see if he can develop this young talent on roster. Thos was coleys first year calling plays for a major program. Growing pains is to be expected

Jameis Winston, Jacob Coker, Clintt Trickett all came and went during Coley's tenure at FSU. Not a bad resume.

Jimbo taught them boys and personally recruited each one

So Coley had nothing to do with any of the QBs at FSU during his tenure there? Riiiiiiight.

FSU QB coach from 2010-12 was Dameyune Craig. Craig is a recruiter he is the one that got Winston, but we all know he is not coaching QB's. Now he is the "QB" coach at Auburn do you think he is coaching Marshall or is it the pubescent OC or is it Malzan? Coley was the OC during that time but Jimbo didnt let him do anything but recruit. That is why he and Craig were on staff. Jimbo coached the QB's and called the plays.

I am sick of hearing what a "beast" this colon is recruiting! I have seen more "defections" on the offensive side of the ball, than the defense! Fisch did good with Morris and Harris. ****, Morris was projected as the 3rd QB at one time in the draft. I can not accept his play calling and his coaching of these QB's footwork. He said he didn't change Fisch's playbook, just the terminology! WTF is that? I will agree that he can evaluate the talent, but how bout you develop it! We need to get old school! I form and hat on hat, and let the talent beat the brakes off these schmos! Colon didn't have the balls to pull Morris with a gimpy ankle! What makes you guys think that a true freshman starts? Stop giving the job to Kaaya as well! Judas Priest! Golden wants to keep his job, he better learn how to hire better coordinators. Colon a beast of a recruiter? My ***!

Craig actually coaches WRs at Auburn but I get your point...We know Craig isn't calling any plays even though he's the "Co-Offensive Coordinator"

Might not be washed up, just might not be THE guy. Which is what we need.

Fisch didn't do a **** thing with Morris. Morris wasn't good in 2012. So what if Morris was projected to be the 3rd QB(if that is even true)? Logan Thomas was projected to be #1 overall by Mel Kiper before his junior season. And the Head Coach pulls the starter not the OC.

This is a joke right?

Coley was the recruiting coordinator/ "QB coach" for one season, and then the TE coach.

his primary job was to script the offense for practices.

His job on game days was to sit upstairs with the graduate assistants and tell Fisher what the defense was doing, while WR coach Lawrence Dawsey had more input on play calling than Coley.

There was a reason Coley's role was limited at FSU, And it wasn't because Fisher is a "control Freak", QB coach Randy Sanders took over many of Fishers duties this past season. Things that Fisher didn't feel comfortable delegating to Coley.

Coley has zero experience developing QBs. Other than what he has picked up from working with Fisher.
True Dat! Finally! Script the plays for practice! LMAO

Good thing you guys weren't posting when it was up to Kyle Vanderwende or Freshman Bernie Kosar....oh no! Whatever shall we do without Jim Kelly?

If this board existed back then, u bet your *** I'd get off my big wheel and porst about it.

I def don't believe everything espn says (esp with there biased hatred of our beloved canes) but on cfl today one of the guys pointed out that more important than x's & o's for coordinators is recruiting. & coley is easily our best recruiter (& that's according to Pete) so that should & will weigh alot in his evaluation

I believe on offense your OC and OL coach should be able to coach the game and understand x's and O'x at a high level. Leave the recruiting to your TE WR and RB coach.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but Canes want Olsen to be successful. If he's successful we're successful. But we need him to put down the sauce and get serious about his trade - no more run ins with law enforcement and no more suspensions.

U all keep sleeping on Olsen

I don't see how Golden wouldn't show the same patience with Coley as he has with Dorito. As disjointed as the offense looked at times last year, Coley wasn't in charge of the worst unit in school history.

Golden threw Coley and the offense under the bus quite a bit last season to take heat off of Donofrio. He's definitely shown favoritism. If Golden isn't fired after this season, I wouldn't be surprised if Coley is and Donofrio is retained. That's how messed up the situation is. There's no place for it in college football.

Though I don't agree with his play-calling at times, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt until we see Kaaya/Rosier. You have to give an OC a chance to hand pick his qb & groom him to fit his scheme. If this year's qb recruits don't pan out then that will be a direct reflection on Coley
My problem with this line of thought is that Fisch parlayed his coaching and playcalling ability without having "his own players" into a short stint at Miami and then an NFL OC gig. He didn't need to have success with another QB...he had success with Harris and Morris both. Granted...he had an "in" with Gus Bradley from his time at UFayg, but still...had he not had success with someone else's QBs at Miami, Bradley wouldn't have made him OC.

Coley's got to pick it up sometime here soon. It doesn't matter if it's his own players or not, it matters how he uses them.

You and others still appear to be sold on Fisch being something I have always said he wasn't, good OC and QB coach. His QB's / I'd performances in games against anyone but the sisters of the poor was abysmal to say the least.

He got that job due to his connection. That's how it works most of the time.

Between Dorito and Corley we are seriously ****ed.

Lulz

The powers that be should each be handed a bottle of bleach to drink, if they allowed that.
