Solid breakdown.
It's painful to watch that Mallory block. You're a 6-5, 245LBS upperclassman, act like it man.
Missed calls on us won't ever change. Don't understand how the facemask on King wasn't called. Frustrating ****
Hall not falling on that fumble......
Missing Harley wide open for two TDs sucks. I didn't see that in the game.
That QB run on 4th and goal was a copycat play from UF last year against Bama in the SEC championship. I'm giving it to Chaney all day.
Kinchens reminds me of Jaquan. One of my favorite canes. I hope to see him, LT, and Williams getting playing time.
That's why sometimes the way to take the step up in tier is to land on that NFL QB. King is a very, very steady pair of hands - we'd have been lost without him last year - but he misses a lot.

A QB that's going to the NFL doesn't miss those reads / throws and keeps us in the game. We still probably wouldn't have won, but it closes the gap significantly.

How can you win when 85% of the time we are playing off coverage and leaving dump offs open? We don't get coverage sacks. I would have man under and 2 man under Bama to death. We showed up with what theu expect and they destroyed it.
yeah you woulda showed them bro. Wish you were calling the D. Ivey would lock down metchie and Jamo isn’t a problem at all. Their beast TE, we just stick Carter on him. Oh wait…

Miami is not good enough play 60 minutes of highly competitive, fast, physical football with a college football team the caliber of Alabama. The opponent had superior talent on the field, and on the sideline.

We are so poorly coached on the defensive side of the ball it’s laughable.

You had Jennings - MLB - out in coverage on an island against Metchie - Bamas best WR and potential 1st round pick.

You’ve got poorly disguised blitzes - and when Bama audibles, we don’t audible out.

You’ve DE’s consistently dropping out into empty space, with no one within 10-15 yards of them - covering nothing but air, because their aren’t players on that side of the field.

DEs not setting the edge

Players in space covering nobody

Living a dying with soft zone defenses. Bama sent guys in motion often so their QB could recognize the zone pre-snap
Again great breakdown of the issues that plague us the most defensively. Diaz needs to hand his scheme over to a veteran DC and have him tweek and realign several things then ground the players in solid fundamentals and fanatical attention to detail. Manny should have hired Shoop to be the DC. I still think the new defensive coaches will pay dividends. Its just going to take a bit of time. All that and the fact that Diaz always reverts to his passive soft coverage shells/play not to lose scheme for big games especially if he feels that we are physically outmatched. For this reason it is entirely possible that the defense looks completely different vs APP St and the rest of the ACC schedule.

King is good for what we need right now. He saved us last year plenty, and even the NC game helped put up 26 points under center.
We need to win the coastal and have 10+ win regular season. I truly think Garcia can be that guy for us in the future, but I wouldn't throw him out there yet. I read a comment from a poster saying most elite teams have elite OL/DL. One of two, or both. If we do what we have to do this season in the win column, I am hopeful we land Kelly, Lucas, and Stewart. That will be our elite DL that can be our game changer with LT too.
It's on coaching to not mess it up at this point.

Am I losing my mind or did we previously get a few coverage sacks under Diaz? Specifically when pressing with Jackson and Delaney. Also someone please explain having 2 stand up rush ends in a 4-2-5. I need that to make sense
That makes it a 2-4-5.

Ivey isn’t locking down anyone.
