Young linebackers

Finley has been our best LB this year

Shaq has been solid, but still needs to improve his speed and angles

Pinckney needs to be more consistent. Misses too many tackles

both should not be leaving early

Yes but the tradegy of Melvin Bratton lingers. Injured in his last game of his senior year and never was the same. If you are round one or two you go. If not you stay. Don’t think Pink or quarterman are Rd one or two. JJackson might be.
I was sick to my stomach in ref to Bratton....

Shaq has 1st team type numbers. 70 tackles 12.5 tfls 5.5 sacks 1pick.

If I were to take a guess...you're All-ACC First Team Linebackers are:

Germaine Pratt, NC State
Tre Lamar, Clemson

Then you have a mix of -

Ryan Guthrie, Syracuse...Tre Watson, Maryland...Joe Giles-Harris, Duke...and Shaq is probably in this group for that last spot.

Pinckney leaving would not make me shed tears. For every highlight, he has four lowlights where he misses the tackle and player x gains a long one cause he is running where Pinckney should be defending.

Don’t forget Ben Humphries. The media loves that dyckbag.

Steed missed a TFL last game..still not full go from that knee. I don’t even remember him being on ST. Maybe I’m mistaken there...but as far as 55 & 56 both should come back unless they get a 1st day grade..Shaq has made some stride in coverage this year I’ll give him that. But I still think he and pink could use another year. I’ll also this, if for some reason both decide to leave I wouldn’t be surprised if 53 had a breakout year..he plays a position that is tough to get love from in today’s CFB. I think if they leave you’d see McCloud slide inside

Good post

McCloud still takes terrible angles to the ball. His first step on running plays should almost always be toward the sideline. He is a liability on the field when teams run east or west and when they throw the ball.

Assuming for a moment that 99, 55 and 56 make the ill-advised decision to turn pro:

DE Patchan / Joyner / Harvey
DT Bethel / Silvera / Martin
DT Ford / Miller / Blissett
DE Garvin / Rousseau / Williams

LB Finley / Wilder / Huff
LB Jennings / Steed
LB McCloud / Brooks / Solomon

CB Bandy / Blades / Brownlee
CB Ivey / Bethel / Couch
SS Carter / Frierson / K. Smith
FS D. Smith / Hall / Knowles

D. Smith be a backup to Finley. Hall will probably start at FS

Nothing about that front 7 looks great. But I will say Manny’s scheme makes his D not depend totally on elite talent at every position. Unlike the O.
