Year 1 expectations for Butch and his staff

I love it. I love the Butch fan boys backing off their fervent support now that Butch has to put up.

This group went from saying "pass" on guys like Chip, Gundy, and Mullen because "Butch da GAWD" had no equal outside of Saban and Meyer, but now they're sweating when we expect da GAWD to win his division with a stud QB and a loaded defense.

My guess, we don't hit double digit wins til year three or four when Butch stacks the roster and has seasoned vets. Is that failure? who knows but that was common knowledge to those that were arguing against Butch. We knew he needed a loaded roster to win.

But if you made Butch into a god then don't back down now. People clamoring for 10 wins with a junior stud QB, loaded Dline and good receivers isn't unrealistic especially in the division we play.

Hahaha oh look, the guy who wanted another MAC coach is butthurt.

Butch is on record saying this team is talented in spots, especially at quarterback, but we need better players on the defensive line. Luckily, that's Butch's specialty.

Guy had to have them be fully grown NFL players before he could get it done. Thats the concern. Will he hire coordinators that speed up the development of those talented kids where they don't have to clear future pro bowlers before he wins big?

9 regular seasons wins and a bowl win would be a succesful first year. I think the defense has ALOT of chamges to be made. Just gotta have reasonable expectations. But in reality, i dont think it matters if we win 7 or 8 games, because year 2 and 3 is when we will see a huge improvement.

Just a reminder, Miami plays in the ACC Coastal, the weakest division in all of P5 conferences.

Pretty much spot on. I'll add that while it's not necessarily a failure if Butch/whoever wins fewer than 10 games next year, it's fair to expect 10 wins. ****, there were a few people talking about 10+ wins before this season started, and that was with a proven failure of a HC.

We've proven that an elite coach doesn't need very long to change that culture. Sounds like a built in excuse, much like what has been said for Corch Strong, Golden, Hoke, etc etc etc......win next year or GTFO
