That was my biggest gripe. Why did we get Big 10 refs when our opponent the next game was a Big 10 team? They had a direct impact on the next game, and not enough people are talking about that. There is a reason a school's own officiating crew can't call one of their playoff games. Now we all see why they should never have a role in determining who plays one of their teams.

I guess there's really no good way to handle it. The SEC and ACC refs (thank God) couldn't call the Ole Miss game for obvious reasons. The B10 crew couldn't call the IU/OU game. I think we just had the Big 12 crew for the Taint game (I could be wrong on this), so we were stuck with the B10 crew.

Personally I can't stand officiating crews being conference employees. There's too much room for conflicts of interest.
