WR Coach Ron Dugans

Looking around & found he is supposedly their ace recruiter (responsible for SFL) Their WR's thrived this year & broke school records under his tutelage. We shall see..........

Napier was the only other WR coach I would've taken. This is an upgrade over Beard.

This guy is legit, great recruiter and great coach. I was a Kevin beard supporter but I must admit he is an upgrade over him. Dugans is an excellent coach

absolutely agree and will help alot in the Tampa area with recruting.

Dugans is a clear upgrade over beard. Sorry to admit it. Helluva a get by CMR

I don't know much about Dugans except that he is a nole and went onto the NFL.. but I can say this.. I'm never going to be against bringing someone in from the NFL whether it be a player, coach, or operations position like Jon Richt had with the Bills. The capacity in which we bring them in is the only issue, as long as they have a quality resume to justify their hiring and I think Dugans fits that description, Rumph fits that description (would be iffy on DBs coach, but as CBs coach he is qualified imo), and I'm fine with Richt jr as QB coach (because Mark Richt is going to have a lot to do with that position now its not like Jon is solely responsible).

Those guys have been around the best of the best, learned from those guys, and just experienced things that coaches that haven't been there have no clue about (i.e James Coley)

I would have really liked to keep KB but to a man, Dugans is way more qualified for the position we needed him to occupy. The co-oc title, not just WR coach, and KB was not ready for that responsibility. Good get for sure in this hire. If Bruce doesn't like it, see ya.

Vern's L not withstanding, LOL, I read a little about Dugans' life experiences. I can see why Richt would want him from a personal stand point. He's been through a lot and come through it, presumably a better person. Anyone have an honest fact based assessment of him as a WR coach?

Dam hard to hate him after that I have an 8 year old daughter too....

I'm sure Dugans has the potential to be a great hire, but the late timing has to be tough on Beard. Rough business to be in. Hopefully he catches on with another organization.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said

Aside from the FSU connect, I don't see why we'd take this guy over Adam Henry.
Henry's got a better pro resume but I honestly think it's a toss-up...

Didn't Henry coach Reuben Randle, Jarvis Landry and OBJ at LSU?

Seems like a pretty good group of guys to use in your recruiting pitch.

I don't know who Dugans has developed ...

Devante Parker

Damian Copeland has been on the Jags roster for 2 years too

So is Dugans going to be the Co-OC? And, before anyone says he's not qualified, he has as much experience as Lawrence Dawsey when FSU made him Co-OC. He has more experience than Clemson's Co-OCs, Jeff Scott and Tony Elliot.

Yea, has to be Co-oc. Never have I heard a HC also be labelled as Co-oc.
