Worst Miami team ever?

Agreed. I remember 2007 being a ****show but I don’t remember getting blown out every single week like this year. I’ve never left so many home games at halftime in my life

Yeah, agree with others that you'd have to go back to the mid-70's to find comparable or slightly worse ineptitude. Witnessed a few home blowout losses on Friday night's at the OB in my elementary school years. That qualifies this bunch as HISTORICALLY bad.

*take heart in the fact that I'm still a pretty good deal younger than Coach Steele😂.

97 team beats down 2022 team by the 3rd quarter. All they gotta do is run the ball with Edgerrin James and we can't do a thing to stop them

Clearly. 1997 was a train wreck with sanctions decimating the program. There was no depth and Butch Davis had to play a ton of freshmen.

2007 was an abomination. Coker’s poor recruiting had left an unbalanced roster with no chance for a first year coach (Randy Shannon) to win.

This year, Miami spent more on football than ever . They returned a Heisman candidate quarterback and most of a 7-5 team. Not only did they finish 5-7, they got blown out consistently. Most of their games were not even close The previous teams didn’t have the luxury of a transfer portal to retool a roster with.

In my opinion whatever other records may have been in the last 40 years this is the worst team both because of expectations, **** poor performance, ****** attitude, dumb football IQ, horrible coaching, no heart. And so many other reasons.

Been a Canes fan since I could walk (I’m in my early forties) and yes, I believe this is the worst Canes team of my lifetime. Fall has always been my favorite time of year because of Canes football - but this year I couldn’t enjoy any of it, I watched because that’s what I do but I f’ing hated watching this team. It just felt so much more hopeless than I can ever remember.
 
Nearly 40 years for me and I've never seen a worse team. Atleast the probation years and other bad years had some reason for hope. There is no one on the team I see any good future from. Team is complete trash, especially on D. Coaches are the worst too.

Been a fan since I was a kid in the mid-2000’s. Was going to UM when we got embarrassed by Butch and FIU on the grounds of the old OB. So the perspective is a bit different since fans like me have only ever known the suckage of the last 20 years compared to some of the old heads.

But yeah. Easily the worst team I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. That ‘07 team with Randy had converted punters at wideout because of Coker’s roster mismanagement, and the Golden teams had to deal with the cloud. And even still, we didn’t get blown out at home every week like we do now.

Mario had no excuses to field a team this bad, and the worst part was that it was on the back of the decisions he made as head coach. None of us here can predict the future, but given the situation and context it’s not looking promising under him.
