we should be showing different looks all night long, blitz's yes as long its not that delayed blitz package which never gets'"home"
drop 8 ,zone, man to man., rotate those first 4 DL keep them fresh.CMD, will have time LASHLEE and his group will be ready to roll really like the Bolden- Eiettene match up to future NFL studs

I dont like that matchup, its gonna take a team effort to even slow down Etienne.. Dont want to see that kid one on one too much

I’m hoping we spy him a lot w/ Frierson & allow him to delay blitz as needed. Other than that, let the front 4 do most of the pass rush. When we blitz, it needs to be run blitz bc DTs need to keep gap integrity or else Etienne will kill us. Pick your poison lol. Trying to force FGs honestly.

If we have to consistently blitz in order to get pressure we aren’t going to be in the game for long.
I’m most interested in seeing how we tackle in space and work the boundaries.

I think the old saying is, blitz bad QBs, do not blitz good QBs. If you're going to blitz a good QB, you have to make it work in a hurry. I think SHOWING blitz enough will help confuse their linemen and help our DL. Show different looks, blitz rarely. You have to get creative against a team like this, but not to the point of out thinking yourself.

If I see a late blitz coming from 40 yards down the field, I'm going to break something.

We should try one overload Blitz with McCloud like he did vs FSU...

But otherwise, we should show Blitz pre-snap but drop 7 in coverage & keep eyes on Etienne out the backfield.

Put Al Jr on Amari Rodgers all game & let Ivey do battle with his fellow South Dade Buccaneer in Frank Ladson. Brannon Specter & Braden Galloway will have to be accounted for as well, they use them both quite a bit as chain movers in the intermediate routes.

This game Defensively will be all about Phillips, Jade, JHH & Roche being able to collapse the pocket & get Lawrence on the ground. Clemson has only given up 5 sacks on the season, because TL will run out of the pocket a lot more than people would expect.

But Lawrence is completing 73% of his passes & hasn't thrown an INT all year, there's not much that can be done about that, the fact is, he's the #1 pick in the 21 draft come April next year & he's by far the highest graded QB since Peyton Manning. Unless he just has a bad day, he's gonna get his no matter what.

Our best bet will be to hope our Offense puts together long sustained drives & scores plenty of TD's, because there's really nothing the Defense can do to stop this team completely, we can create pressure upfront, but other than that their offense will move the ball without much resistance.

The game will come down to King going God mode & our WR's playing their best game of their careers.

Front 4 has to get home.

That’s it. That’s the strat.

Agreed. Use the front 4 and drop the rest. Stop the LB fires and giving Etienne and others huge spaces to work in. If he makes it past the defensive line on a typical double blitz, he won't be caught. Make Clemson earn it by being patient and keeping things underneath.

Our front 4 should be able to get some pressure. Mix it up a little. Run an occasional twist with the DT/DE (not the 2 DTs).....but for the love of god, have the DT push outside first to clear a hole for the DE, not the other way around. If i see Ford looping outside as Phillips ducks inside with 2 blockers, i'm going to break my TV. Or run a 3-man line with edge guys flanked on each side....overload one of the sides with 3 rushers on 3 blockers and drop the other. Stop being so predictable. I liked how Georgia was moving their Dline around last night, trying to confuse Auburn's inexperienced line.

If Baker wants to blitz, run blitz. Stunt and crash an outside backer. Pinch the Dline and flare the OLBs. Do something that actually works on a better percentage and isn't a terrible trend we've seen on Miami tape for the last 2 years. This is a game to break trends. If Baker doesn't, Sunshine and Etienne will make him pay.

Good stuff LCE..scary dose of reality there man...Go Canes

I hear some say the front has to get home. So it sounds like we want to be aggressive up front which will create a running lane for lawrence.

I hear what you saying but to me clemson offense can be slowed some. They aren’t as good outside at wr as they have been. They have some young highly rated guys but they haven’t took that role yet. That’s why rodgers in his senior year is on pace to have his best season. I would show different looks but I would let the corners man up.

As far as their defense the d-line is deep with young talent. They are not as good as a pass rush group as they were a couple years ago but they are still a good group.

Clemson weakness to me is the back 7. Their mlb and wlb are slow. And the have questions at corner and has had issues at safety. To me that means this is a game for Jordan and get Mallory more involved. They also have had issues with qbs running. So that may mean maybe a few more designed runs for king.

I say see what type of pressure our front 4 can get with occasional blitzes. Their offensive line isn't as strong as it has been in the pass. We may be able to contain them with pressure coming from Phillips and Roche, but they have got to be ready to set the edge on the RPO. Can't let Lawrence get around the edge and scramble for 20 and 30 yards. Once he gets moving, he's not afraid of contact. Our Dtack are going to have to ball and collapse the pocket on him. They also will need to get penetration and control the run. Ford needs to back up somebody cuz he's really MIA. I'm really concerned about our LBs.
