Who are the best five players in college football in 2026?

It’s difficult to list. Because how do you grade it. Based on stats, based on how they did against the best comp, based on pure projection? If I was basing it on a combination of the above as well as what they do for their team….

J Smith
Toney
Carr
Chambliss
Fletcher

I’d have guys like A Hardy on the list but their teams suck.

Not buying the Carr hype yet. He is ND TVD until I see him against better competition that has tape on him.

easy to put up great numbers when playing a 10 game stretch of mediocre to bad teams, and no good DCs have been able to break down film.

Our offense is going to be excellent this year.
Nobody said it won’t be, but if you’re beating Syracuse, wake forest, Stanford, BC etc… 31-7 in the 3rd quarter and your stud RB has 2 TD’s and Toney has a jet sweep TD your QB isn’t going to be needing to throw much more

Can be based on production, ability, or both.

My early five would be (no order): Malachi Toney (Miami), Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State), Colin Simmons (Texas), Arch Manning (Texas) and CJ Carr (Notre Dame).
Day drinking again we see.

Toney DAW GAWD/Jeremiah Smith
Mark Fletcher DAW GAWD/Kewan Lacy
Cam Coleman
Matayo Uiagalelei

CJ Carr is a very good QB, Leonard Moore will be a top 5 pick.

In no order, Chambliss, Toney, Moore, JJ, and Hardy. The first 4 are locks the 5th spot, you could put a lot of folks there.
