North of Cincy about 20 minutes actually
Vacationed in Fla since early 80s with my Fam.
Loved the Canes since they lost to PSU for the NC

Born in Cuba, grew up in Miami(Jackson 68). Living in Houston Tx. Fan since George Mira years, visit once or twice a year. So great the U is back!!

My old man is from Cuba and was class of 67 at Jackson High

Que bien Brother, glad to see there are some Jackson Generals on CIS. As we used to say; De Pinga el Caso.

I went to Columbus lol. My old man wasn't sending me to Jackson haha.

I went to Jackson with the Dumervil brothers, and some other kids that got d1 schollies. We had a pretty good team almost beat the west in 99 (they won with a few seconds left, qb never returned to school - life threatened was escorted home by cops after game) they had the beaver twins. We got revenge in 2000 tho...

I left for Houston in 85,was Oliver the head coach then? Oliver was the OL coach under Joe Brodsky when I graduated, very good coach.

Born in the Netherlands, near Amsterdam. In 2001 when I was 7, I moved with my mom to Ft. Lauderdale to live with her bf. He'd been a Canes fan since the 80's. During the first year I was in America, Canes won the natty, I went to Canes fest, etc. and it's history from there. I moved away in 2006, but those few years stuck with me even though I didn't go to school there. Now, my goal is to go back for an MBA in the next few years and be a part of Miami again.

AYYYYYYY...another Dutchman. I was born in Suriname but have mad family in Holland. mainly rotterdam

Ayyyyy, that's dope man. I have a decent but of family in Rotterdam as well.

born in Montreal, raised in Hollywood, Fl...went to games in the 80's in the WEZ with my father...was hooked ever since.

Eastern PA - Been a Canes fan since the Vinny days. All my friends were Penn State or Notre Dame fans, which made it fun.

I idolized Rusty Medearis and Kevin Patrick growing up, played defensive end in booster club football because of them.

Got accepted into UM but couldn't afford to go, so family preferred i stayed at the state school, hence the name. Stumbled upon Grassy my freshman year in the college computer labs and have been a board member in some capacity ever since.

Born on Long Island (Like Vinny); couldn't stand college football, teams like 'Bama, O$Uck and Pedo State were boring to me. Family moved to Southwest Florida and I started watching the 'Canes in 1979 because they PASSED the ball with a guy named Jim Kelly. Family moved to Orlando, I joined the Navy Reserve, then the Air Force and took my 'Canes fandom from Turkey, into Lower Alabama (Hurlburt Field, Florida ) for 11 years, then Nevada, Germany and deployed sites from Central America to Iraq...Now stuck in $uckeye land, USA with subUrban and his $ucknut faithful. Son grew up a 'Canes fan, got a scholly and went to UM, graduating summa *** laude and marrying another 'Cane (their dog is now my avatar) so the legacy goes on...

Like Gatorhater mentioned, "No fan based is as diverse as ours, by state, region, Faith, race, politics and origin" and it is one of the most welcoming, least pretentious fan bases around, especially for a non-alum like me.

Ohio. Was looking for a team in the late 90s. Something about Miami spoke to me. Plus, my family is from SoFla but roots for Ohio State. I was a rebellious teenager

From Australia. Knew nothing about football in 2002 and mates hired Madden from Blockbuster for something different to do. Instantly loved playing with Ray Lewis and from there started to really get into football.

Did my research on the Hurricanes and fell in love with the swagger of the old and new players coming through. I had never seen a Canes game until then as there wasn't really any chance in Aus to do so but have followed religiously for the next 15 years (a lot easier to watch games these days with streaming sites and now WatchESPN). Was a member of Canesport for over 10 years until I found this site and have spent thousands on merch and member fees over the journey to be as involved as I can.

To this day I'm up for the noon games at 3am over here and the girlfriend knows Sundays are off limits as Miami football is a religion to me. I'm living and breathing Miami football 365 days a year and wouldn't have it any other way!

Grew up in Miami. Brother went to UM and had classes with Jim Kelly. He said Kelly didn't show up that often. haha

Brother was a member of ZBT Fraternity and I spent my fare share of time at the campus with him when I was a kid. Been a season ticket holder for canes and Phins for 38 years. I unfortunately had to go to Miami Dade because my grades sucked.

My Dad was ZBT at the U. One of his fraternity brothers was Skip Bertman.

What years was he there?

My brother was there 79-82

Born in Baltimore, moved to Miami when I was 1. Went to my first Canes game in 84 against Rice, but first one I remember was in 85 against Louisville. My parents were hesitant to "waste" a ticket to a good game on me when I was young. They didn't let me go to good Dolphins games until late '85. I was able to go to the '85 Notre Dame game, and the Dolphins playoffs that year (******* Craig James).

My grandparents on my Mom's side moved to Miami in 1952 and my grandfather opened a business in Liberty City. He had UM tickets from 1952 until he died in '93. My mom taught at UM in the 80s. I had no choice but to be a Miami fan. I went to every football game growing up. A lot of baseball games, and a **** ton of basketball games at the Knight Center and the Arena. I went to every home game the year we went 0-18 in the Big East. My dad is a huge Canes fan, but half of his family lives in South Carolina and went to Clemson. They can go **** themselves tomorrow. I live in Chattanooga now, where there are actually some Canes.

ps

I went to UM law school for 2 days until I realized I didn't want to be a complete *******, just somewhat of an *******.
