Where does DVD stand?

I'm a fan of DVD and think he could be a big time position coach once he gets experience but he hasn't proven anything. If he wants the DB job here, he should go cut his teeth in G5 or a smaller power 5 school as a DB/secondary on field coach. Even after the Cormani disaster, I think he can still be very valuable in the off field role but he obviously is itching for more.
no, he needs to make his bones first, then cut his teeth. there is a hierarchy to street creds, meng.

eh. i see it on both sides. some hate everything he does. some are in between (thats me i think even if it doesnt come across that way at times as i know where hes elite in and i know where he struggled but i also likke some of the new hires). either way, it doesnt matter now.
Nah. But whatever you need to see to let you post what you want is up to you

There’s things to love about Mario and big *** question marks for sure

So LVille, FSU, UNC, maybe Georgia... Sounds like he may have over estimated his value. Thats ok, its good to believe in yourself. But you also have to come to terms with reality when it shows you the truth.

If he wants to advance his career the reality is probably taking a step down to smaller program for an elevated on field role that may also come with a step down in actual pay in order to work his way up the ladder. OR, he has a pretty nice position now in an off field role here which probably pays well and is in the hometown. Nothing wrong with that either but if you choose to stay you have to embrace/be happy with it. Cant be a twitter diva.

Or maybe we (including myself) are being the silly ones dramatically speculating based on some social media profile that doesn't say "coach at Miami" on it.
He was CB’s coach at Miami in 2021 & didn’t do too great of a job at it, that’s his only experience except for being CB’s Coach at ASA Miami JUCO.

Other than that, he’s basically just been an Analyst since he’s been here for the last 5 years.

If he really wants to be an On-Field CB’s Coach, he should’ve gone to programs like FIU, FAU, USF, UCF etc, even going to FAMU, Bethune, NC A&T, W&M, TSU, **** even places like Stetson, Keiser, St.Thomas University, he could’ve cut his teeth & learn the ropes & would be a higher sought after commodity.

He’s pretty much just only seen as a Crooter, which I know is extremely valued by our fans, but around the country isn’t as much of a Golden ticket as people really think it is; the fact he interviewed for multiple jobs & they all pretty much passed just shows they think he needs more experience beyond just being a South FL recruiting specialist.

I love the guy, think he’s one of the coolest former Canes I’ve ever met, but IMHO he’s actually sold himself short by accepting the role he’s had at Miami for such a long time.

Depends on one’s personal perspective. Some prefer to focus on the negative. Others focus on the positive. I prefer to look at the big picture including all aspects whether negative or positive.

He just added Canes Football back to his bio 😂

Maybe he jumped the gun and didn't get a job he thought he was going to be offered. He's definitely looking, but it seems like he's not going to get an on-field P5 offer any time soon.

I'm thinking when Addae moves on (and I could see him getting a g5 DC job as early as next year)...DVD to CB, and Guidry picks up safeties (his specialty)

Just a possibility. But one I consider fairly realistic.

I know but maybe it’s cause he’s a cane I honestly don’t want him to leave

If DVD isn’t good enough for FSU, UNC, etc. to be on-field with his level of actual coaching experience, why is he qualified for that role here? Putting DVD on-field, if he doesn’t go to another program to get some actual experience, would be another Miami bro move. Take away that he played at UM and what are we even talking about with his current resume?
