Where does DVD stand?

I said what I said and I know it’s true because I got it from two unrelated sources , one in the recruits camp and one in Miami circles. I also posted if Mario doesn’t live up to it Dvd would bounce. Well he’s interviewed for a handful of jobs which isn’t a secret. There’s more to it and I get Mario’s side of it but it’s 100 percent true. I will say it’s nice of Gary to post something over two months old like it’s new info. Just like the T Rob drama I mentioned that eventually came out a couple weeks later on pay sites.

i dont blame mario or guidry rethinking their initial thoughts and dont blame dvd for seeking an opp elsewhere. its a business. your alma mater means nothing when it comes to your employment.

i know im trying to reiterate what you said and referenced you in my posts. people somehow forgot bc people treat mario like a god on here at times.

Our DC has changed though. I would have to imagine that Steele would've had some input on that decision. So naturally, Guidry should have some input as well. He may have interviewed both Addae, DVD, Rumph and who knows who else and determined that DVD wasn't the guy for the job.

Idk what happened but what we do know is that DVD is clearly not going on-field and is likely about to jump ship.

Pretty sure its the Pop Warner team he coaches or coached. The ravens. Also i have seen posted that Chance Robinson, Jojo Trader, and Jermiah Smith played on that team and its a reason why DVD has a good relationship with them.

Wesley Bissainthe, Nyjallik Kelly also at times played there for Miami Gardens Ravens....

as well as 2024 recruits...Davion Gause, Vincent Shavers lb (OFFER), CJ Bailey qb
 
I'm a fan of DVD and think he could be a big time position coach once he gets experience but he hasn't proven anything. If he wants the DB job here, he should go cut his teeth in G5 or a smaller power 5 school as a DB/secondary on field coach. Even after the Cormani disaster, I think he can still be very valuable in the off field role but he obviously is itching for more.

Wait...that's mostly correct except one part...he definitely got the Utah State job but then Manny offered on-field as CBs coach and he decided to stay at UM.

He interviewed at Georgia.

We could use him as a recruiter but not at the expense of him being an on-field coach.

Best thing for his career would be going somewhere else for 2-3 years. Best thing for Miami would be he stays in his current role.

All of this is probably irrelevant because I don't even think he's going anywhere. Playing the twitter diva game most likely.

I have no reason to doubt your info and wasn’t disputing it. I couldn’t recall whether or not you confirmed the “promise” or if was just rumor. That being said, I find it difficult to believe that Mario would make that kind of a promise to one recruit and/or one coach. Stranger things have happened.

DVD is a slick cat , he was never going with Banda. He knew he had Manny by the balls. These coaches are all very calculating. Just look at previous coaching searches and how coaches play the media game.
