What's your short list look like? Golden replacements

LULZ at Stoops being a pipe dream. That Kentucky gig is a stepping stone job for him.

Yea a stepping stone to a big time program. Our job right now isn't much better than the Kentucky one.

You must be a new fan if you don't know that the UM job is infinitely better than Kentucky. Everyone knows that.

While Miami is better than Kentucky, he could probably do better depending on which jobs come open. Best thing that could happen would be for Muschump to win 8 games and keep his job. Stoops would probably want uf over us

I doubt ufayg goes after another DC type of HC right after the Muscrap abortion. They will be looking much higher profile.

Possibly, but Kentuckys offense has been putting up points. Problem is just with the list we come up with, who would they get. There really aren't many strong candidates. I have heard gator insiders say they want freeze or MSU head coach but can they pull that off. This is why butch makes the most sense. We know what we are getting. Narduzzi runs a good d but can he or does he like to recruit? Everyone has question marks but butch.

would yall want the HC to have ties to Miami or is that trait less than important to you.

The reason I like Davis so much for the gig is that we can't afford another risk. We know what he will bring, and we know it'll be better than it has been for a long time here.

I don't think he's a homerun because of the shortcomings he's shown as a HC. But he's a line shot double off the wall when we can't afford the golden sombrero of 4 straight strike outs.

He will at the very least return us to the national picture and recruit some incredible players. We wouldn't be a weekly embarrassment either. And, importantly, everyone (fans, former players, recruits, HS coaches) would buy in because of his past success in building the machine that was early 2000s UM football.

It's amazing to me that some of you guys have Schiano on your lists. We'd be a little better off but would never come close to the playoffs.

This may sound trivial, but I don't think it is. The "U Part 2" is set to air on December 13th. It will highlight Butch's construction of a dynasty. That's the same day Golden was hired four years ago, and would be around the time Butch would be hired.

The timing is almost too perfect when it comes to establishing credibility with the players, recruits, younger fans, and the national consciousness.

Stoops and Patterson are pipe dreams.

It's Butch or bust for me but I think Schiano will get it. Not a huge fan at all of his, but he'll be an upgrade over Al. He'll have us winning 9 or 10 consistently.

Oh c'mon. Any coach worth his salt knows that Miami is the pipeline to a National Championship if he's competent.

So circle December 13th on our calendars?

I don't think "buy in" is trivial at all. We're seeing the results now when there's no buy in and when everything is a death struggle.

Agreed. I was referring to the ESPN doc, which IMO is more important than some might think.

Mark Stoops, Chud, Rich Rod, Butch

Kaaya will have good coaches wanting this job. A good coach knows they can win a title with Kaaya.

It is a good situation for any coach, we have a very talented roster, with a great QB, a good O-line, a good RB in waiting

It almost sets up too perfectly for Butch's triumphant return, to be honest. It's destiny.
