What this program needs

Quit trying to win every game 17-14. We need a guy who can take the advantage we have here in South Florida (speed and skill talent) and exploit it, not neuter it. We have guys talking about our rich talent base, yet we hire these conservative old school plodding coaches who want to play 1970s Big 10 football. It’s one misfit after another. One boring bum after another.

Our only real hope is a Lincoln Riley type who comes in and gives us an IMMEDIATE schematic advantage where we can make up for our lack of talent and current depth and recruiting inefficiencies. We need a guy who can buy some time with his offense while we create some excitement with the brand that will ignite recruiting.

We can’t afford another “he needs a few years” type of hire, which is why we need a “light up the scoreboard” hire. The worst thing about our program is it is FCKING BORING AF. It’s got no juice or panache. Yeah it sucks to lose. But it sucks way more to lose in such a boring fcking way.

This is what I wanted last time around, but I talked myself into Richt because of his track record.

We desperately need a coach who can adapt and stay ahead of the curve. We have the exact opposite.

Richt decides to start shifting and motioning guys (ineffectively) deep into seasons as if it just occurred to him.
 
Actually talent wins regardless of scheme. Bama has always been boring as **** to watch (finally a little better this year with Tua) but they win because they have the best coach who also happens to get the best players.

I agree that we need to bring some excitement to the program with a high flying offense in order to attract said talent again... But Bama has proven you can also be boring and win so long as you get the best players every year.

He loves being revered and having a seat at the cool table, and he knows what happened this year is an embarrassment and puts his status at risk.

Listen, I know we give the guy a ton of ****, but the shame and loss of respect among peers (now that he's in the club) might be what causes him to finally grow a pair.

You just described Mike Leach. He campaigned for the job. I am sure he would come. Our offense would be lethal. He would not give a **** about beating the **** out of anyone. Moreover, he would write a book memorializing our dominance.

They run a VERY aggressive D. He’s the perfect hire. Only people who haven’t watched him at bowling green & cuse would think otherwise. He’d win a national title in 3 years.

But seriously, much of college football is now a race to 40 points(if not more) and it's very much an offensive game.

False , scheme matters today more than ever.

Bama went to more spread , rpo and using tempo because they know they needed to change with the times. The same reason why they recruit mostly dual threat qb’s.
