what should we do on offense vs. clemson?

We’re gonna inside ‘em! We’re gonna outside ‘em! Inside ‘em, outside ‘em, and we lose by 42.

If we don't push the ball down the field, Clemson is going to destroy everything within 5 yards of the LOS. High school football doesn't beat Clemson. As for slowing the game down, it won't matter if we're going three and out 75% of the time.

Our D is going to have to play WAY over their heads to keep us in it, or we're looking at a drubbing.
agree with this. like, the offense coaches put together for lowly ga tech stopped working midway through the 2nd quarter. it took an amazing individual effort by b. smith and then a scramble by jacurri to get it back on track in the 4th quarter. if we try the same thing against clemson it's gonna be a disaster. my expectations are pretty low, as all i wanna see is a plan that gives us a chance to score touchdowns taking into account all the limitations we have on offense right now. i truly hope that isn't asking for too much. yesterday, the kids proved they haven't given up. win or lose on saturday i hope that we perform in a way that builds upon last week and doesn't bring to mind fsu/mtsu/duke.

tldr; onward and upward rather than onward and ***ward

???

Its gonna be the same offense we just saw.

1. Brown designed runs

2. Bubble Screens which will not work against Clemson DBs (I expect a pick six here)

3. Runs up the middle which will not work

4. Probably like 6 or 7 called downfield passes which will turn into Brown scrambling and running bc he has .5 seconds to read the field and the routes take 6 seconds to develop

Our players were fired up for the GT game bc they saw that Brown was keeping them in it and they had a legit chance to compete and win.

Against Clemson, the team will fold and stop trying bc they understand the futility.

This is a write-off.

I'm excited to see how they bounce back for Pitt.

Gattis will come up with 20-25 quarterback draws, a half dozen bubble screens and maybe a flea flicker.

Not disagreeing at all. I’m just not sure I see them taking that kind of approach.
I think if we lose and it’s not a blowout, they can talk about how culture is changing and continue recruiting as if the recruits are the missing link.

if I were coaching, I spend the weak teaching them how to line up with spacing in the spread formation. That alone will help stretch the field horizontally. Then I would rework routes for my outside guys (Colbie/FL) so they only work routes that are a minimum of 10-15 yards deep. Have Mallory run seams and skinny posts with X and BS lining up opposite side of WM and run digs and deep crossing routes. That would open it up vertically and either take chances on those routes or JB can take off and just needing to beat 1 person instead of 8 in the box. I think that would also help the wrs max what they do well. One thing that they don’t do well is bunched up formations, even spread outside. For those to work, you need a bunch of guys like X - shifty as **** because that’s what causes separation in those formations.

This.

Mario knows he’s not winning this game. The objective will be to run the clock as fast as possible and slow the game down to prevent another blowout on tv.

Everyone should already know this.
It’s gonna be this 💯
And my previous response is a tongue and cheek version of this.
2015: 58-0
2017: 38-3 where Richt kicked a meaningless FG so they didn’t get shutout again by Clemson.
2020: 48-17

And this version of the Canes is probably worse than the three listed

Odds are high history repeats itself here

We could have Saban and Ryan Day on the sideline, and we'd still lose this game. Too much of a talent disadvantage to over come in this one.

Going to have to throw downfield more. Those bubbles aren't gonna work.

IMO need to hit on a couple deep throws to even have a chance. ID a guy in single coverage and let it fly.

TVD out for sure this game?

Garcia, gone, injured, or what?

I fast forwarded between most plays this last game since I watched it late. So I don't know if the announcers said anything about either of them although I saw TVD out there.

As for what to do against Clemson, hope. For what, I don't know, but this is the first time we've played them in a long time that I'm not sure they're going to score at will on us. That doesn't mean they won't, but this is the least worrisome offense they've had since we started playing.
