I'm also looking for King to command the "huddle" - while we won't huddle, you guys know what I mean. This team has sorely lacked on-field leadership and King seems to fit that mold.

Move the chains. Look like a real offense. Be able to run the ball on 3rd and 1 without getting stuffed like the last 15 years

Establishing the run and shutting down their run
Spreading 4-5 wide and getting ball out quickly
Converting 3rd downs
Performance of new LBs
Performance of pass rush sans GR15

Most of all - the first dominant Canes win in far too long!

1. Offense under Lashlee
1b. OL play
2. Defense under Baker
2b. DL play

We've heard a lot about Lashlee's potent offense, so I'm excited as **** to see what he's got in store for us with our athletes. Baker needs to have a better grasp of the D and needs to show thru his play calling. I think we'll be fine at most of our position groups, but tons of question marks surrounding the trenches. I'm hoping the OL is much improved from last season and anxious to see the improvements on DL

If we are talking specifics:

@Lance Roffers says their identity is running the ball and won't deviate from that therefore I'm looking for how often we can get them in 3rd and long and percentage of drive thats are 3 & out on defense. I want their average yards from scrimmage on first downs less than 3 yards.

Offensively - separation from receiving targets (TE, WR, RB). I want to see playmakers catching the ball in space.
If these are successful then it won't be close.

Execution.

- OL making minimal mistakes
- Ford & Nesta being consistent
- Improved speed at LB
- Couch and Keontra making plays
