I could go for this. One of the best names I've seen. He understands basic football. I won bets on him at Youngstown State in the lower division playoffs long before he made it to Ohio State. Those games at Youngstown State convinced me we had no idea what we were up again in that Fiesta Bowl. Tressel's teams were extremely well prepared.
He is Butch Davis' age. I don't know the legal aspects but Tressel probably is looking for one ideal location to resume and finalize his career while restoring his reputation. Miami makes sense. I'm sure he doesn't want to get stuck in some place like UNLV, where John Robinson finished.
So we let Golden coach for two more years and make Jim Tessell the HC in waiting?
I didn't know it required a 2 year wait. I don't think Golden will be fired this season anyway.
Most of the names floated around don't interest me. Lots of cupcake offensive coaches. Tressel would restore a physical presence.
I just researched his show clause he can coach th 2016 season. When means if Al Golden is not fired this year but is fired at the end of next year the timing would work out perfectly.
Okay, let me get this straight: Golden gets another year after this disaster, to include a year with no Perryman, no Duke, a still learning Kaaya and his BFF still as DC soooo...We can get the coach who was part of the Terry Porter "buy" (you realize Porter owned a bar in Akron and Tressel is now the University of Akron President, right?), whose "championship season" was one lucky break after another, who knowingly lied to the NCAA
in writing and who has as stupid a wardrobe piece (the vest) for South Florida as Goldilocks and his tie.
Okay, based on the merits of your argument, here is my opinion:
