We are a team closer to 4-4 vs 6-2

We ARE 6-2.. I'd understand if you said we were close to 4-4 than 8-0. But we're 6-2 and closer to 7-1 then to 5-3.

On another note, we've won 2 (should be 3) games that over the last 15 years, we typically lose.

We beat Clemson and UVA with basically no downfield threat at QB.

Those are the kind of wins we're not used to lately around here.

C’mon, TOC! I’ll give you 7-1 but we scored some lipstick on the pig points vs UNC. They destroyed us the 2nd half. Because of the offensive issues, we didn’t build up the lead in the first half.

Nope, I'm not going there. If we had one more score earlier in the UNC game, then that last drive is to tie or win. Interception at the goal line. But that could have been the game winner too.

It's a fine line. My point is, I don't want to go down the rabbit hole that other posters do every year (not you, just other posters) when they keep telling us about how close we are to being under .500 or whatever.

I'm just enjoying the season. Could get rough the next couple of weeks. I wish we were 7-1 or 8-0, and I'm not going to lose a second of sleep over "but we could be 4-4".

Sorry. You know I love ya, I'm just exhausted with this kind of discussion over prior years.

Just my 2 cents.

Team came out flat. You could tell right away. I’ve seen this game too many times in the last 20 years. Knew it from the first two drives it was going to be a fight in the alley. Glad we won in the end but…….

- TVD was putrid
- Dawson/Mario were just bad.
- we are lucky to have won the last 2 games despite Mario’s time management and coaching decisions. It cost us vs GT.

- Imagine if we had lost the last 2 games. We would be 4-4 with 4 straight defeats. It would be such a bad and toxic situation.

The TVD situation (seems mental combined with some injuries) is just bad. Might be best for him to move on next year. Thank you Virginia DB for dropping that 3rd INT.

We are closer to 4-4 than we are to a 6-2 team.
'we are closer to 4-4 than we are to a 6-2 team.'

This is so dumb.

We are 6-2. How can we be closer to a different record than the record we already have?

I was thinking 7 or 8 as well which is still achievable depending on what TVD shows up. But with Cristobal I knew it was going to be a slow build. How good we eventually get who knows, but it will take awhile to get there. I think that was one of the main knocks people said on here, he's going to need more talent then the teams he's going against if he hopes to win.
Which sucks bc we are paying him all that coin and giving him more resources than any coach before him and it doesn't have to take that long to turn around a program.

Fair and I didn’t say we should be 4-4.

I said we are closer to being a 4-4 team vs 7-1, 6-2, 8-0.

I am basing that primarily on the play of the offense and the coaching on that side of the ball and the fact that we have a broken QB.

We have pulled out the last 2 wins despite our QB play. That’s the most important position on the field.

I am not even mad at the fumbles by Chaney (want a fumble) or vs UNC by Parrish. We have a depth chart that each week keeps shrinking, injuries, a head coach that is very lucky to not have cost us more games.

Hey, didn’t the NY Giants start off well then went bad, snuck in the playoffs and get a playoff win last year? How’s it going for them this year?
They suck lol this is cfb. I still think the giants got a good HC who is tied to a qb that will get them fired. He may never be given another shot again that’s how it works. The giant got Amazon drivers at OL and Neal is a bust……who would of thought he would be a bust? Not me

But I don’t watch bama like that so I wouldn’t know.

Because we are struggling with the worst teams in the ACC (GT, UVA) and barely hang on vs Clemson. All three are not good teams. I’ll gladly take the 6 wins but I am looking at this team for what it is: a middle of the road ACC team vs one of the top 4 teams in the conference.

And like the Giants, we have a QB issue which is holding us back. Holding this offense back.

Out of 4 ACC games, we have only scored more than 30 points in one (vs UNC). 20 vs GT coming off a Bye, 28 vs Clemson and 29 vs Virginia. We have major problems on offense, which sucks with a new OC. I wasn’t expecting us to score 48 every time like we did vs Texas A&M but we should be scoring at least 35 points or more vs these ACC bottom dwellers.

I’d say we are the 4th team.

FSU, UL and UNC.

Virginia Tech is 4th based on record. Duke would be up there but their QB went down.

We have 108 points vs 110 points (-2 differential) and that includes GT & UVA in the 4 conference games we have played.
