I don’t think Mario is the man. Maybe a good recruiter but that’s it. He is just plain not very smart and I say that kindly not what I really want to say. In hindsight what a shame we could not hirer a high IQ young hungry coach. We have had a terrible hiring streak going. Just looking at him on the sidelines makes me wonder what he will ***** up next.
 
We weren't good. We usually lose these games in the past. Two weeks in a row we've won instead.

These are admittedly baby steps. But they're steps forward, nonetheless. The program and even Mario despite his best efforts at times, are learning how to win.

I said this after the Clemson game, 9-3 should be the expectation in the building. Don't care how we get there.

There are several problems with this team. A lot of the negative has to do with Mario burning every single ounce of goodwill year 1 going 5-7.

I do agree that the offense is so lazy and predictable that the first 2 drives you knew we were in for a long night. It’s the story of Miami football. Have a roster that (on paper) most teams in the ACC would instantly take.

However, week in and week out we come out and straight up lay down for anywhere between 3-4 quarters on offense. There’s no light, no fire, no sense that they’re going to or even want to win. They just come out do an HB dive on first down for anywhere between -1 to 2 yards into a 7-9 man box, throw a WR screen from the tightest formation that everyone knows we’re throwing for another 1 to 2 yards and then finally on 3rd down decide we want to throw the ball downfield.

Then finally when we do find our rhythm with some good runs or chunk plays in the 2nd or 3rd quarter we have TVD throw it all away straight to X that has 2-3 guys covering him after staring at him pre-snap. And he does it 2-3 times per game absolutely stabbing the defense in the back.

Now that we are done venting. We are 6-2 and frustratingly close to 7-1. Strap in, the rollercoaster still has a long way to go.

Not even a little bit. The  team has earned every win. Even the best teams don't blow out every opponent or cover every spread.

Aside from UNC its literally just been qb play. If TVD is even competent in the GT game, Mario (& Kam & Couch) don't have the chance to give the game away.

Going foward: yea without good QB play we'll likely have a losing record the last 4 games.

Again, I didn’t say we should be 4-4 vs 6-2.

I am talking about the coaching and the QB, TE play, injuries, inconsistent DB play, lack of depth in major positions. We are lucky to be 6-2. We are struggling with GT and UVA.

We have a 4th year (3rd year in terms of eligibility) QB that’s playing like a True Freshman.

Guidry losing his cool?? It shouldn’t have happened but the bigger issues were not being prepared for tempo offense from UNC, turnovers and the QB who hasn’t met an interception he wouldn’t ****.
