We are a real program again

Defense was nasty af at times. That final drive by Mesidor is going to be thing of legend. He beat his man and had Carr dead to rights on every down at multiple positions. Including their LT on the game winner.

Made money tonight. Pro film all over the place.

OL might be the best in the nation.

Marty Brown is very good. Maybe our best back if tonight is anything to project t long term.

Held the nations best back for less than a wrap at Pura Vida.

FAU Kicker got a leg.
FAU kicker got that 3rd leg

You could shrink the seating area for the band, but its not like you are going to make those seats available to the general public. Throw some extra students around them like we did at the OB, it helps fill it in, but honestly, it's such a non event, most rational people don't even notice it.

Thats obviously your opinion, because many people at game pointed it out that I talked to

Was thinking the same thing all night.

We’ll all have thoughts and posts about what we could’ve done better. We’ll all discuss what we did and didn’t like. We will get much better as a team, as most teams will. It’s week 1 and our QB has only been fully cleared to throw for a short time. The Miami team we saw tonight isn’t even close to the Miami team we’ll see through the season.

But it doesn’t matter. Mario has restored respect to this program. That crowd, that atmosphere, those athletes…it felt right. We have LONG way to go, but it feels good to not be a joke any more.

That’s a genuine blue blood of the sport, with a universally respected coach and literal unlimited resources. And we didn’t look overmatched in any aspect, at any point. I have no idea how this year will turn out, but it feels good to say that. It wasn’t that long ago that I was unsure if I ever would again.

How I felt walking out of the stadium thinking everything you typed above lmao

Let me guess, they all had tears in their eyes and said “Sir, we have to fix this”. If you are at a Miami/Notre Dame game, the Canes are playing well and you are worried about the BOTH, there’s a good chance you are doing it wrong.

We’d all love for the BOTH to be larger and more entertaining, but that’s a financial commitment that would be better used on the on field product.

It feels good that the game went exactly how we thought it would and it ended up in a W. Say what you want but this is a hard nosed football team and we should appreciate it seeing where we have been for 2 decades. We have flaws but Mario building it his way and it's slowly starting to look like the Canes we once knew and loved

The run designs were terrible all game
I did think for the few runs that Lyle had he didn't hit the line hard and danced around a bit, which is why they probably went with Brown who ran the ball hard. Its good to have that variability in your backfield. Also liked Beck throwing 3 passes to the RBs that got 25 yards. We used to do that alot more and it gets you free yards almost. I wanna see someone have some catches like Quad Hill used to.

The only thing I didn't like about Mario was the first half timeouts which he thankfully didnt do in the 2nd half. Other than that he had the players ready to go.

The game for me was on Dawson with those vanilla *** calls. Not sure why there was not more motions and also getn the ball in Lofton's hand. If we can use him in so many ways why not, especially in short yardage.

Seems like a reflex to blame Cristobal for everything and let's not also forget we will take a backseat to no one in OL play once he is here. It's refreshing.

Also we must be reminded that it’s the first game with a new DC, bunch of new pieces in the secondary and all over the offense. Pretty sure execution is not where it can be when u consider the opponent. Like they were one game from being the defending national champions and brought a ton back. I'm not impressed or shocked that we beat them. Most of their plays either came from our mistakes or the refs with sketchy calls.
Had them ready to go with a delay of game penalty to start the 3rd qtr coming out of the half 😂

I wish they’d put Lofton in that role for a few plays to at least switch it up and make the defense think. I also think we need the PA more on these zone reads. We do it some but I think with Beck powerful arm and quick release it can really push those safeties back some.

It’s actually ******* sad. Even when they sr won the field they look like a cover band.

The pregame chant - “Give me an M…” bull**** is so 1960s.

Mario needs to take that over and overhaul it. (I am not joking).
You expecting Mario to modernize, jazz it up and make it hip???

Thats a good call. Having Lofton back there and just fake the run and throw it to him in the flat. Easy pickings. Also, I hope at some point when we need a first down in one of these games that Beck actually pulls the ball and runs on the outside absolutely no one is expecting that. He refuses to keep any of them (its only game 1 of course)

I mean, I think it's pretty pretty good because that that is not some fraudulent phony Notre Dame team. That's a Notre Dame team that brought pretty much everybody back after finishing second in all of college football last year and upgraded at quarterback. I thought CJ Carr, I didn't think he played, you know, outstanding, 19 of 30. So, a decent decent game, two touchdown passes, but that was an upgrade over Riley Leonard. And I thought Miami's defense was outstanding. They held Jeremiah Love to three yards a carry. I mean, they they got Notre Dame off the field on third down. Notre Dame was 44% on third down.

But I I

felt like if I'm a Miami fan, I can walk out of that game going, "We got a chance. We got a chance to be back." Dude, my I want to give my guy JJ credit for this. You know what he said to me, Zack, on Twitter? He said, "If you look at the Miami roster up and down, it's a bunch of kids that Miami beat Ohio State for." @SonicYouth

That was a crazy bar. Like, when I see that, I'm like, ****, they might actually be back. I mean, you look f first of all, Malachi Toney, true freshman receiver from American Heritage. He was the kid that was the number two when Brandon Inis was a senior. He played early and looked really good. You look at therunning backs, it's Fletcher and it's Jordan Lyle. Those are two Ohio State misses. You look on defense, it's Lightfoot and them. Like, you go up and down this roster, Zach, and it's a bunch of Ohio State misses. For the first time, I'm sitting here, I'm like, ****, they might be back.

Like, when when

you look at when you look at Miami, here's the thing. If you want to be a good roster, when we look at evaluating rosters, we look at, okay, is your roster littered with kids who you beat Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State for? And I think now Miami's finally there.
