We are a legitimate playoff contender

I expect a lot of negative feedback for this and could really care less. 25% of the season in, I can confidently say that we have turned the corner and can beat anybody in the country.

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is “god ******* **** it, you ******** can’t help yourselves can you?” But after that I’m thinking that you may be right, but it’s way too soon.
The thing nobody ever remembers is that it’s a whole season thing. Yes, we look as good as anyone right now, but how will we look in a month? And will bama look this bad in November? Are you so sure clempson won’t extract their collective head out of their collective ***, realize they’ve got 99 5* players and start beating the **** out of everybod? And while I think fsu will implode, are we that sure they won’t decide to play to their potential? ****, would unc playing the game of the year and beating us be that surprising?
My point is that what teams look like on paper doesn’t mean ****. If it did, we’d be 2-1 right now and have won 7 championships in the last 20years.

The only thing is our DL is weak in the middle imo but I can see us as a playoff contender.

I feel like we get a good grasp on this team after @UNC and Clemson game. Theres 5 tough games left and BC got a freshman QB whose only going to get better

I agree 100%. The crazy thing is I actually agree with the OP. I also feel this team has all the pieces to be a playoff contender, but I don’t want the team to feel that way. I’m kinda enjoying this whole “flying under the radar” thing because they’re playing with a chip on their shoulder and they feel disrespected. I don’t want us to start looking ahead or feeling ourselves too much. Let’s just keep doing what we’re doing.
 
Playoff team? No, I don't think we are there yet. But we can beat FSU, NC, and Clemson this year! I think we are ACC Champions this year. I do believe we are that good. 2024 is when we make our run...
 
I believe you are half right.

The playoffs are wide open for a fresh entry this year since so many of the recent powerhouses are having off years.

But it won't be us. We have come a long way but I just don't believe we are there yet.

No matter what, it is way too early to even worry about it. Just take care of the week-to-week business and the rest will take care of itself.
 
I thought we could play with anyone on our schedule before the season. Where I was concerned was with depth. We don’t have the depth that many of the top 10 teams do. Yet. So when the injury bug hits, and it hits everyone, what happens? We already lost Mesidor, probably for a long time. That’s a massive loss. Kelly and Deen are also hurt. Will they be ready for UNC? What happens if an OL goes down?

So I like the optimism and agree that there are no great teams this year. But let’s get through GT and UNC first, healthy. If we are still at full strength and 6-0 with Clemson coming to town, it might get really real.
