It’s apart of the culture of Baseball in the modern era.It really is weak that the top American pitchers are sitting out. Sandy is the Cy Young, Ohtani is the greatest player ever in a walk year, Urias is another stud in a walk year.
These guys just lack national pride.
We coddle our pitchers & treat them as if they’re fragile delicacies that have to keep their arms encased in glass year round until the MLB season starts.
Latin American pitchers, pitch in the regular season, post season, then go play Winter ball in the Caribbean league. The thought of not playing doesn’t even enter into their mind because that’s how they were raised in the game & that’s why they normally have much stronger & more durable arms than the Americans.
