If it were likely to be based on actual knowledge of WTF we're doing, maybe it'd be refreshing feedback after Signing Day. As it stands, it sounds like the output of a blowhard who says stuff he's heard from others…just louder.
What are you basing that off of? I should add, if he played on the O side you may have a point. That he was a stud DT your comment makes no sense.
The better question is what is HE basing his comments on? They sound like parroted words. How many games did he watch? Which ones? What did he see exactly? I've only rarely seen him give a thoughtful technical analysis, so forgive me if I don't blindly accept his words simply because he was once really good at shooting a gap and playing football. Your logic basically is that if you were a great player, especially on a side of the ball, then you automatically know what you're talking about? Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time, but he apparently can't evaluate talent for the life of him. Ok, that's basketball. There are countless examples of players, some of whom I've talked to, who were or are great athletes and do or did their job. It doesn't mean every comment they make about their respective sport holds water.
Whether Warren Sapp played offense, defense or video games on the moon, I don't find his commentary, particularly here, very helpful. Especially given that, in "trying to keep it super, super real," he offers these comments right up against Signing Day. If the commentary or analysis goes beyond "hey, yo, this doesn't look like a Miami defense," please point me to it.
