At the very core of our problems is that Golden places his friendship with his ****headed BFF ahead of all others. Ahead of the team, the alums, the school, the fans, he'll even ahead of his wife and children's futures. And Sapp pointed that out. Don't hire someone that you can not fire.So those big names won't make up their minds based on all those other things, but Sapp and Buch speak up? ***** bells, they gone. SMGDH. NCAA "cloud" is gone but I guess it's now been replaced with the negativism "cloud" hanging over the program. As if it's both the cause and effect of what's wrong with the program.FIFY. You forgot to add the check at the end acknowledging the predictable train of apologists that would line up to defend our defenseless defense.
Check! This is all so ****ing humorous.
Progressively get worse year after year defensively? Check
Get our asses reamed by FSU, Duke and VaTech? Check
Not once, but twice get blown out in games where we can WIN THE ****ING COASTAL? Check
Give up more points in those three games than the entire 2001 season (including champ game)? Check
Give up more 500 yard games last season than God knows how many seasons prior to D'OhnoDefense's arrival? Check
Head coach goes absent for three days (with hopes of leaving) just weeks prior to NSD? Check
Sapp and PBuch go public with their displeasure regarding our joke of a DCord? OMFG!!!!!! How could those ******** do this???!? They're gonna cost us this recruiting class!!!?!?????!!
Have there been any "apologists" on this thread at all? All I see is people saying that the timing was awful for this comment. I don't think anyone disagrees with him, we're just all saying why the fck would you bash your school one week before signing day when we have a legit shot at some big names that could go either way?
I can just see it now. Golden in his next presser starts the negativism cloud meme. Instead of addressing what's at the core (**** poor corching), he goes after the negative criticism directed at his BFF.
I don't know what they're selling the recruits. We weren't a top 25 team, but we have a top 10 ten recruiting class including quite a few out of staters, so they're selling them something. One of the best selling points about the U is the family atmosphere, the history and tradition. When those things start working against you it doesn't help matters. We need guys like Warren Sapp using their fame to steer recruits towards the U, not away. Some of you guys would rather the coaches fail with an empty cupboard and give a new coaching staff another 3-4 years. I'm not interested in that happening. I want the best players here and if the coaches fail, we get new ones.
Majorcane said it right. It's misdirected anger.
