Walk with me

Let’s hope Parris, wingo, and Evans make this a non-thing and he develops into the rangy, athletic backer

Yea I just watched the highlights. Eeesh…

For his athleticism the lack of force upon contact is alarming!

Just for the record..Im keeping notes..because I got a feeling there will be a common theme for those who think this is a good idea to those who thought Bryce Fitzgerald should start out at WR because he lacked physicality to play S/CB. ;)

I want my best athletes on defense if I can help it. Thats just me though. Randle is a freak show. WRs come a dime a dozen. Freak shows at LB don't. JMO.

Have you watched our games? They don't make mistakes? His interviews by his action seem to be coach speak. I will say dudes also gotta do there part and don't cause unnecessary friction. Life now is all about instant gratification. But if that's what you looking for then go to a school with zero questions in your way.
Of course they make mistakes, but they probably make FEWER mistakes than Wiley and Marcellin and Pruitt make. I don't think it was coach speak at all. I think our targeted linebacker recruits are great examples of that. Miami is getting passed on 62% of the time, you don't think Hetherman values linebackers who can cover? He is just working with what he has and plays Toure, and Smith because they are trustworthy.

If Brysen reclass and commit to Miami, it will shake the college football landscape again. But I do think a players like Eli Woodard may potentially explore the UCLA options. With their unexpected success on the field with a new staff, i think there is risk he circles back as Cal and UCLA were both in his final 3. But i would seriously retain him, as I think he is going to be a good slot in CFB.
If Wright reclassifyng costs us Woodard then so be it, he's an instant impact type of talent

Brother if that's your take I'm not here to convince you otherwise. I guess just everyone we've recruited in the last 5 years or so at linebacker didn't cut it for him and only the three that do (to say the very least extremely limited) are the only ones capable of playing at all for us... A coaches approach should always adjust to his personnel. I'm just really tired of people avoiding the facts were extremely limited with the dudes we choose to play and we'll never know what we have with the rest of the room if we refuse to play them ever. I've been to far too many practices and won't even mention any staff takes for me to go with none of them have shown they deserve reps. Only reason we play mo & chase is because we know exactly what we're getting. Being content with knowing we're getting flawed play doesn't make up for their flaws... They're both flat out worthless in passing downs and marcellin is essentially a carbon copy of both based on style of play and physical limitations... No matter how we feel about wileys maturity off the field, he's 10x the total player for the position than what we've chosen to use. Add to that the flaws we take from the others and why would we not give them some kind of reps atleast. Cause now we're just going into next season technically in an even worse position than we are currently in this one.

Calinative not to be rude but you tend to edge on the brink of pessimism lol 😂
Not really at all tbh. In fact wasn’t very long ago I was getting called a Slurper and only defending Mario and program.
There are just some very ******* obvious things to complain about. This staff clearly plays favorites at certain positions/players.
Last yr TE and LB were the clear weakest units on the roster. We basically added nobody there. Luckily I was decently confident Lofton would be fine at least, and he’s played pretty well so far. But we have still failed to develop guys behind him, or rotate. And LB is the biggest offender of them all. We refused to play the young guys last yr. Then this yr they locked into 8th/9th yr guys who at the biggest Pass Coverage and athleticism liabilities possible. And they refuse to play anyone else. It’s ******* stupid. And like there are certain other guys that they just are hard headed about: Lyle, SJ. There are certain clearly talented players who when they get put in play well but they just refuse to: Pringle, Wiley, Pruitt, etc…..

Thank you sir. In your opinion, which LBers on the roster can play now not named Toure and Smith? And who are almost ready with a bit more development and coaching either for the playoff run this season or the 2027 season?
The funny thing is is people/coaches will just ignore gigantic *** liabilities of certain players and only focused on the the negatives and not the positive of others.

Toure is the worst pass coverage linebacker we have had start here maybe ever. He literally has 1.5yrs if tape of allowing a perfect passer rating when targeted. He can’t go sideline to sideline. If I were an OC I’d be doing so many clear outs and rb dump offs and TE seam routes against us it wouldn’t be funny. Do I also think that was another reason the screens were workin so well for FSU…

But Wiley has the liability of…..? Pruitt has the liability of maybe not being so strong against the run? Oh well luckily teams run on us at like a <40% rate especially since our offense is so good it forces opponent to try to pass more to match, but nah Pruitt playing a bit more would be crazy…

Oh yeah Young guys would be liabilities because they would make mistakes! Certainly we haven’t had any busted coverages from Dunnigan…. But notice how it’s still worth playing Dunnigan…. Interesting. Also the expectation is Dunnigan gains experience and learns and improves/develops. We don’t afford that to any of our young Lbs.

So you say who is ready to play? Well all the non freshman are ready. They just don’t get to

We’ve had to play Dunnegan due to injuries… but I understand your frustration. I don’t think it’s that simple. I know for a fact Mario isn’t holding any players back because of some vendetta or that he isn’t trying to develop players.
