We really need athletic backers.
Hard agree. This thread wouldn't have been started if there weren't major questions about his potential at LB. Not good if we're already looking at other positions. Sounds like he's a great athlete but lacks abcxyz to play LB.
I think he looks more natural on offense than defense. Maybe I’m wrong (the sample is very limited) but nobody has really challenged that point. They just say we need linebackers more. That’s true, but that’s a separate question.Hard agree. This thread wouldn't have been started if there weren't major questions about his potential at LB. Impossible to read it as any other than "his film at linebacker is not that impressive, but he's a great athlete, so before everyone loses their minds, lets sell his potential at wide receiver".
Two things can be trueTEs get lost in Dawson's offense.
He may be more athletic at receiver than linebacker sure. That doesn't scream to me that he should be a receiver. It screams he might not be miami caliber. Our wide receiver room will have: Toney, Moore, Upshaw, Wingo, Paris, Spafford, Jacobs, Sears, Wright, Lennear, Woodard, the 5 stars we bring in from 28 etc. How tf is this dude gonna play at receiver. Theres no way he picks up receiver in college and competes with that group unless he is a completely out of this world athlete.I think he looks more natural on offense than defense. He’s still a take for me either way because the profile is so unique. Get him here and figure it out. There are flashes on defense. But we are bringing in other linebackers.
after taking four receivers in ‘26, asking him to compete against them, the future ‘28 WRs, + upperclassmen, then lastly Wright, Sears, Woodard and Lennear is crazy talk lmao.
Honestly, that was a while back and the only person on Millbrook that really jumped off the screen was the receiver I mentioned lol, I wasn’t looking for specific guys on that side. But they had guys all over the place, they outmatched Garner from the jump. Not worried about LBs in the ‘27 class because we got Whiteside flipping soon and likely Cypher too give Gaby’s suggestive comment. And i am glad they aren’t letting go of a great kid/character guy + an amazing athlete in Randle. We have a 2nd TE spot waiting for him right there so

Hopefully the staff moves him in-line at TE.
Millibrook is where Cypher plays at, right? How did he look as he is the guy we’re looking to bring in (alongside Whiteside + Glover). Cypher’s highlights look great
He isn’t a take at WR, especially at the $ figure his ranking likely would necessitate. Do you see what we have loaded at WR and actively recruiting? The time and nil to develop him at WR could be spent on actual LBsI think he looks more natural on offense than defense. 5yrs yes, but their is opportunity cost in a guy sitting for 2-3yrs before he plays if he is a highly rated player which necessitates a high $ figure typically.Players have 5 year to play 5 right?
Just bring him in and let it play out on greentree. I like the idea of bringing in another LB if they're not 100% he is one at the moment.
11 WRs on the field & since Mali & #13 are the smallest ones then they play CWe’re going to have 15 WRs on the roster at this pace.
Yeah and we never won 10 games with his sorry asWhen you recruit a true athlete, I believe you should be open minded.
People killed Golden for experimenting with Njoku at LB during his redshirt year, but it was a fine move. See what you have. Njoku ended up being a first round TE anyway, and a bunch of other position-switch guys went first round with him.
He’s not being taken as a WRHe isn’t a take at WR, especially at the $ figure his ranking likely would necessitate. Do you see what we have loaded at WR and actively recruiting? The time and nil to develop him at WR could be spent on actual LBs
Yeah I definitely want him apart of the class. All the recent actions would suggest our coaches are proceeding like he will be moved to offense, most likely as a WR.Honestly, that was a while back and the only person on Millbrook that really jumped off the screen was the receiver I mentioned lol, I wasn’t looking for specific guys on that side. I watched a few games after that (mentioned in another thread yesterday) and I just didn’t see it with Randle at linebacker. Everything looked a step behind processing wise. But I also may have been nitpicking/being too critical because I’m not generally watching full high school games for linebacker commits.
But he’s a legit freak show athlete. If you told me he came in and dedicated himself to receiver and was the best of the class I wouldn’t be completely shocked. Seriously.
You take him as an athlete. Let Greentree decide where he fits.He isn’t a take at WR, especially at the $ figure his ranking likely would necessitate. Do you see what we have loaded at WR and actively recruiting? The time and nil to develop him at WR could be spent on actual LBs
I might be able to get hudl tape of Millbrook versus Garner.after taking four receivers in ‘26, asking him to compete against them, the future ‘28 WRs, + upperclassmen, then lastly Wright, Sears, Woodard and Lennear is crazy talk lmao.
