Walk with me

Players have 5 year to play 5 right?

Just bring him in and let it play out on greentree. I like the idea of bringing in another LB if they're not 100% he is one at the moment.

This thread wouldn't have been started if there weren't major questions about his potential at LB. Not good if we're already looking at other positions. Sounds like he's a great athlete but lacks abcxyz to play LB.
Hard agree.

Impossible to read it as any other than "his film at linebacker is not that impressive, but he's a great athlete, so before everyone loses their minds, lets sell his potential at wide receiver".

I think he looks more natural on offense than defense. Maybe I’m wrong (the sample is very limited) but nobody has really challenged that point. They just say we need linebackers more. That’s true, but that’s a separate question.

He’s still a take for me either way because the profile is so unique. Get him here and figure it out. There are flashes on defense. But we are bringing in other linebackers.

I walked with you for the first page, but now my watch is over. I've been screaming for LBs for 5 years....our LB room needs to look like our WR room.

He may be more athletic at receiver than linebacker sure. That doesn't scream to me that he should be a receiver. It screams he might not be miami caliber. Our wide receiver room will have: Toney, Moore, Upshaw, Wingo, Paris, Spafford, Jacobs, Sears, Wright, Lennear, Woodard, the 5 stars we bring in from 28 etc. How tf is this dude gonna play at receiver. Theres no way he picks up receiver in college and competes with that group unless he is a completely out of this world athlete.

Stick to backer or find a new school imo.

after taking four receivers in ‘26, asking him to compete against them, the future ‘28 WRs, + upperclassmen, then lastly Wright, Sears, Woodard and Lennear is crazy talk lmao.

Hopefully the staff moves him in-line at TE.

Millibrook is where Cypher plays at, right? How did he look as he is the guy we’re looking to bring in (alongside Whiteside + Glover). Cypher’s highlights look great

Not worried about LBs in the ‘27 class because we got Whiteside flipping soon and likely Cypher too give Gaby’s suggestive comment. And i am glad they aren’t letting go of a great kid/character guy + an amazing athlete in Randle. We have a 2nd TE spot waiting for him right there so

Honestly, that was a while back and the only person on Millbrook that really jumped off the screen was the receiver I mentioned lol, I wasn’t looking for specific guys on that side. But they had guys all over the place, they outmatched Garner from the jump.

I watched a few games after that (mentioned in another thread yesterday) and I just didn’t see it with Randle at linebacker. Everything looked a step behind processing wise. But I also may have been nitpicking/being too critical because I’m not generally watching full high school games for linebacker commits.

But he’s a legit freak show athlete. If you told me he came in and dedicated himself to receiver and was the best of the class I wouldn’t be completely shocked. Seriously.

He isn’t a take at WR, especially at the $ figure his ranking likely would necessitate. Do you see what we have loaded at WR and actively recruiting? The time and nil to develop him at WR could be spent on actual LBs

5yrs yes, but their is opportunity cost in a guy sitting for 2-3yrs before he plays if he is a highly rated player which necessitates a high $ figure typically.

We have a big need at LB. WR is possibly the lowest need on the entire roster TODAY. We don’t need another WR, period. Only guy we’d add to this class is Wright reclassifying. This dude maybe you could say TE. But if he can’t be a LB or would never get any burn there because we can’t seem to develop pure athletes at LB just move on and spend the money elsewhere

When you recruit a true athlete, I believe you should be open minded.

People killed Golden for experimenting with Njoku at LB during his redshirt year, but it was a fine move. See what you have. Njoku ended up being a first round TE anyway, and a bunch of other position-switch guys went first round with him.
Yeah and we never won 10 games with his sorry as

He’s not being taken as a WR

Yeah I definitely want him apart of the class. All the recent actions would suggest our coaches are proceeding like he will be moved to offense, most likely as a WR.

I just feel like TE could be a better use of his abilities given our current roster makeup and his own talents. He might not have the physicality required for that position tho.

We need to substitute way more than we have ever done at WR and I just don’t see this situation ending well given what we’re bringing in at WR, and what we have already.

your assessment gives me sum optimism tho
