UM Isn't Paying a $2,250,000 Tom Herman Buyout

You guys can dream, but at some point you have to awaken.

UM will NEVER pay Tom Herman's $2.25 million dollar buyout. THEN have to pony up to try to get him to UM, and THEN have to pay him a really good salary to keep him from leaving in another year or two after arriving.

If he's that hot of a coach, everyone, including the NFL will come calling - and soon.

Every single time a coaching position comes up - he'll be in the discussion.

Reality.

It's a real **tch sometimes.

what if he just quits and walks away from the money. you laugh but david west did the same **** thing.

Stupid or retarded or both. David west has made almost 90 million.

I think they will. They just ate Al Golden's buyout. If money was an issue for Miami, they wouldn't have fired him in season.

If money is the reason we are hiring Butch, then the school has big problems.

Yep. All the same guys who claimed UM was going to wait until January 13th at 9:32pm to fire Folden to save $459.00 on his buyout are now claiming Herman is unrealistic.

UM just ate $7M to get that fat fcking cancer out of here a month early. You'd think that if this is truly a "let's find the best guy and money isn't an issue" type of search, then a measly $2.5M buyout won't stop them.

McEltooth's buyout at CSU was something north of $7M. $2.5M is a pittance.

BS!

You don't know what Golden's buyout actually is.

You don't just multiply years remaining times annual salary - UM is a private school and you don't have any idea, and to pretend otherwise is just BS.

However, anyone can go and see the buyout on Herman's contract - anytime he leaves before 2018, the buyout is a flat $2,225,000. Period.

No deferments, no allowances, no exclusions - a full $2.25 million.

Now USCe may pick it up, Texas may pick it up easily, USCw may pick it up, but UM isn't going to eat Golden's remaining buyout, pay Herman's buyout, jack up Herman's pay significantly enough to come to UM, and then sweeten the deal to help deflect other shoppers in the next few years to come.

And if any of you retards think a hot UM coach can't be bought - you're out of your minds.

If this program continues to be cheap. It deserves to be the irreverent pile **** it has turned into. You pay whatever is needed if you think said coach is the next elite one.

I'm not sure why people continue to think the University of Miami, with it's 50k a year tuition, tremendous fundraising, and one of the most identifiable sports brands, not mention Adidas, is somehow the only power-5 school with no money.

Miami is swimming in money, as all private major universities are. Literally swimming in it, this is a fact.

Yeah?

How many million are you kicking in?

Paul Demare is apparently kicking in quite a bit FOR BUTCH.

I am sure UM, if they wanted him and he wanted in, could negotiate that buyout over, say, 4 years. Roughly 650K a year for 4 years is easily dealt with. I believe this is what UF did with McElwain to make the buyout manageable.

I mean most of us are all in on Butch but Herman is far from too expensive. He is making 1.35 million a year right now and the school has already said money won't be an issue with the next hire. 2 million is cheap as far as buyouts go. You forget that Shalala is gone.

This is all wishful thinking to make people think Herman is a non starter. Money is not an issue. The school indicated they are willing to pay $4 million for a coach. How many coaches do you all know of that you are willing to pay $4 mil to that doesn't have a buyout other than Charlie strong or unless that coach is fired?

This thread is BS and simply shilling for Butch. If Butch had a $2.5 million pay out OP would be screaming from the mountains to everyone that amount was nothing. Clearly OP has an agenda.

The cult worship of Butch is so sad when you have to try and shout everyone down with false implications. You look and sound ridiculous. There is rooting for a coach you like and then there is sucking his ****. OP falls in the latter category. You're lookin ridiculous b.

Arch has an agenda. He's going to spew whatever nonsense he has to spew in order to make gullible dopes think that his messiah Butch Koresh is the only option.

UM has an ocean full of money. Anyone who thinks otherwise has been brainwashed by small thinkers.
