UM’s offense has entered the 21st century

This.

He improved the infastructure of the program.

He improved recruiting. Shannon recruited 41 four and five star players during his four year tenure. Golden brought in 39 during his time. Richt signed 35 in just 3 years.

He got the IPF.

He declined a buyout and left millions on the table, millions that UM was able to invest back into the program. Very few other coaches would have done so.
Richt did the program right by stepping down. You could see it on the guys face that he was burned out. I shudder to think how many transfers offensively would have went down had he stayed with his boy wonder.

All that matters are the field results.

Here is the sad reality from last year that must be improved on.

#66 Scoring O
#46 Rushing O
#113 Passing O (Really!!!)
#105 Total O (You're kidding, right!)
It's sad because last year if we have any average offense just league average we could have went undefeated in the regular season.

How embarrassing for Richt that an article like this is written. He was a walking zombie last year on the sidelines.

Why would he be embarrassed, he's won national titles with that offense he ran, had 2 heisman trophy qb's at Fsu and almost had another at UGA in matthew stafford. The article clearly stated that coach richt simplifying the offense was because he knew the players werent ready to run something more complex. Especially at the qb position, and o-line. Seems like most of the players talking were True freshman last year, so their words dont hold much weight when it came to the overall operation of the offense. Im glad the players are excited but even coach enos would tell you, his resume as an oc doesnt come nowhere close to what coach richt has accomplished as an oc or headcoach.

But he's in the right place now, a furthermore, coach enos respects the talent that coach richt brought in. People have amnesia, coach richt was only here for 3 years but accomplished a whole lot in a short time and was just getting this programs talent level back up, corey gaynor redshirting last was an example of coach richt getting this teams talent an maturity levels correct. The young crybabies from last year, most of them didnt even know their plays.

To think that once upon a time there was a large contingent of morons on this site coming out da woodwerks with pitchforks in their hands saying those of us who called for an OC were crazy, or bad fans, or "not true Canes" or whatever other bull$hit cliche's the Don Bailey Jr disciples of the world come up with.

People don't realize just how INEPT the version of Richt we got was. This offense will improve if nothing else by accident, even if Enos isn't great, simply because of how high school-ish it was last year.

it literally is/was the worst job of coaching a UM team (for a single season) I have witnessed. Many will never fully realize how antiquated that offense was last season and how fast the game had passed Rick (word to Franchise, lol) by.

And yeah, he made an incredible donation to the IPF, lets not act like it wouldnt have been constructed without him, good grief

I completely disagree with that last statement, but I'm not gonna go any deeper into it. He left without holding us hostage on the buy out...which makes him a horrible coach with a good heart. Go in peace.

Only thing I don’t like is reading how “complicated” the offense is.
Modern offenses aren’t complicated. That’s one of the keys to their success. It’s very basic, simple to grasp concepts. You then run those few simple things over and over again until you have got them down.

Richt’s problem wasn’t that his offense was so simple. His problem was his offense concept was sh*t, and how it wanted to execute that concept was sh*t.

Football idiots like Barney Jacksoff call a modern diverse offense “complicated.” It’s not complicated. It’s diverse. Enos himself said it’s a pretty simple offense to learn, but it’s deceptive to defenses because of all the window dressing and motion and different looks from which to run the same plays.
