Oh I love him too. I usually agree with his takes, but I don’t get the love for JRoc. He’s fine - but he’s hardly a can’t miss prospect in my opinion.
I think he'll be a good college player in all likelihood. BUT kids like that it's all about their work ethic. It's one thing to play two sports in high school while your broke and you are playing cause it's what you love. Something else entirely to do those same two sports as a college athlete getting paid for it and dedicating the time necessary to each one & school. Dudes do this in high school and don't understand the commitment necessary to try this in college. Can't see that working for more than a year, MAYBE two. But I wish the kid luck no matter where he ends up at. Doubt that'll be poo but I don't know anything about his situation first hand

This is what all the “5 stars are allerigic” bros don’t realize lol ..bruh duhhh what 5 star reciever is gonna pick Miami over Ohio State or Alabama / Or LSU etc. who tf can we point to & say if you come here you can be next “Stacey Coley” ? Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne were b4 these jits time …. I guarantee we’ll start landing more if we put kids Like JOJO and Toney into the league in the top rounds
Who's Georgia doing that with? A & m? Ole ****? Other than Tee who can Clemson point to? Ohio st & bama are the only two schools who get they pick of the liter at receiver. LSU should be in that bracket but they don't traditionally recruit the position like that. Regardless of all that. Y'all might wanna pump ur brakes with all the **** talk. It's a long cycle & nothing is done regardless of what they say or do now until December. Would it be nice to get them in the class early? Sure. But who the **** cares if you still gotta recruit them the same way till signing day.

Do y'all think it's to do with coaching or anything? We have to offer more money cause we're in the ACC plain and simple. Put us in the BIG or SEC and we get these players.

Bama and Ohio St have been putting WRs AND QBs into the league

If we’re being honest, except for Cam Ward, both positions have been bad for 10 years at Miami.

I don’t like it, but I get why Miami has had an uphill battle to land the elite WRs out of HS

Im' just talkin in terms of 5 star WR homie, UGA & Clempson are gonna battle us moreso for 5 star trench monsters like we've been seeing this a lot this cycle. But expecting to land 5 star WRs outta HS when u havent been putting guys in the league during these jits lifetime is funny to me. Sure we might throw a bag n get one once in a blue moon but most will end up @ WR factories or with coaches who put guys in the league as they should. We have some good NFL talent in that room today that we can develop n help change the narrative about Miami for Elite WRs. two of our most recent high profile 5 star battles ended w kids going to the schools respected for putting guys at the next level in this era DJ pickett(LSU & DBS) and Jeremiah Smith ( OSU & WRs) ...are those outcomes surprsing to anybody?? Cantwell himself said he chose us because he beleives Mirabal is one of the best OL coaches.

And even with elite work ethic, kid can't be two places at once. Bound to miss something...

With regard to recruiting. Yes, we are missing out on major prospects, but we are involved in chasing and shooting for the best to get us back into the national picture with regard to championships. We're gonna win some and we're gonna lose some, but we are in the battles ... put on your big boy pants because we are recruiting with the big boys after 20 years of mediocrity. I like the trajectory of the program we have to win on the field. We are a lot closer than we have been in the past. It's not fun losing these battles, but it's a **** of a lot better to be in them than not. Need to win more battles and games.

You're right, but its not like the effort and money isn't there either. It's tough.
Beard did a pretty good job with a bunch of 3 and 4 star receivers (yes we had Cam Ward, but they were good with TVD as well).

If that were the only factor, why are any recruits going to UF? They've been bad for a few years with no real future. They're still in Florida and they're in the SEC.

We're in a second tier conference, it sucks to hear but, it is what it is.
Until were just always in the ACC Championship Game with Clemson every year, then maybe, but until then its easier to recruit if you're in the SEC.

If we want a receiver like this, we need to start putting some guys in the NFL. If we want top 3 classes, NFL development has to be better. Simple as that
Nfl production is everything. Which is to say money is everything. LSU has burrow chase and Jefferson making 100’s of millions. Before that they had Beckham and Landry. Now they have nabers and Thomas. They’re on a run. Now this kid may not even end up there but you can’t argue with it.

Great post & I agree if we’re gonna cut ties with a great teacher in Beard it absolutely has to be someone who can convince the 5stars of the world to come here with a proven track record of getting guys to the next level cause Miami itself is void of that selling point in these kids lifetime.
WINNING AND MONEY. NEXT

I think there’s gonna have to be a progression that occurs…. Get 3 & 4 stars drafted in the top 60 picks, which will then get us closer to landing the 5 star WRs

The WR position, in a vacuum is tough, Bama has even dropped off some, and Ohio St is the gold standard for the position because they currently have every box checked

- offensive minded HC
- Stud position coach that produced in college and the NFL, with a track record of getting guys drafted in the 1st Rd
- fairly simple spread offense that highlights the WR group
- they’ve recruited QB well for many years
- BigTen conference
- school that was already playing the bag game even before NIL
- consistent playoff caliber level team

I know it sucks, but Miami did this to itself and has a giant whole to dig out of, at the WR position AND CB position…. Which seems insane considering Miami’s geography

The likes of Illinois (DBs) and Washington (WRs) have consistently produced more nfl take talent than us…. And not with 5 stat talent…. Miami needs to get to this level first and then the 5 star guys will be easier to attain

Also, if Nickel or Coleman hit and show early success, watch WR recruiting pick up… we’ve seen it with both HS and transfer recruiting that having a known commodity at QB, At critical times throughout the respective recruiting seasons, matters
