The crazy thing about this year over other Mario years is if we weren’t the school getting picked we were almost always 2 or 3, this year we’re barely making top 5’s, is it fans having the orange and green shades on or are we really looked at as a second **** near third tier school cause something feels off this year.

We have won 1 bowl game in 20 years.

Take that into consideration and reread your post.

Recruiting is seemingly the only thing we're good at.

I totally get your point but everyone said last season would have a big impact on this years class, bowl win or not last year I don’t think one win takes us from top 15 to top 5 in recruiting

Bc last year was a complete failure. Nobody cares about winning 10 games except the Mario bros on this board. You had the best offense in the country, with the best offensive player in the country, with a weak *** schedule and you can’t even make the ACC title game.

You don't get my point, at all.

We've had 1 bowl win in 20 years.

I never mentioned anything about last season.

The fact we are even having this discussion means our staff is overachieving on the recruiting trail.

We just had the 1st pick in the draft. We have a top 5 projected pick on our roster right now. We have possibly the best OT we've seen since McKinnie coming in.

Thats just a drop in the bucket of the overachieving Mario and Co. have done on the recruiting trail.

If you wanna pick apart almost every other aspect of the program, go for it.

Complaining about our recruiting is wild work.

The negative recruiting about not making the playoffs last year is probably getting reinforced over and over…

Mario is breaking old faithful ones like he is too dedicated to the run doesn’t like to pass, is a QB killer

Wow, NC_Canes_11 you are right on 10000%. Last year was a total debacle to say the least. We struggled against so many opponents and we couldn't finish the season with quality wins. However when you slice it, Mario can been a disappointment to say the least. He has great facilities, a ton of money to work with, and supposedly a great recruiter. He is a very good recruiter but not elite or close to it. He's good for losing at least one game per year because of his lack of football acumen. Last year was a very WEAK schedule and lost our edge the last several games. Cam saved our butts several times and Mario sucked on the field as usual.

Last year was many steps forward, a few steps backwards. Overall a positive but there was still a ton of ammo given to opposing programs that ultimately weigh heavy right now. Last year was a make or break season. Mario desparetely needed success...he got some of it but enough.

This year is now another make or break type year for Mario.

Another 10+ win seasons this year and a playoff appearance would do wonders. We haven't had that kind of "sustained" success in 20+ years.

Mario desperately needs Beck to maintain his 90% win rate this year and for Hetherman to take significant strides with that defense.

Gotta make the playoffs and win AT LEAST one game there and have Bain and Mauigia go first round. It’s obvious we’re fighting off two decades of irrelevance
