Trayone Gray On His Way!!

better athlete gray, lane, dixon, or rudolph?

FWIW, Lane, Dixon, and Rudolph each posted Sparq scores in the 107-110 range and ran 4.52-4.53 in the 40 at The Opening last year.

I think Gray showed noticeable improvement in his top-end speed in his senior highlights compared to his junior highlights. Tough to compare him athletically to those three, but he should be a heck of a player for us if he's able to make it in.

Gray bigger than all 3. If he's not the same speed . Maybe a hair slower. Can play multiple positions. Call it biased if you want. Gray.

Lol y'all really think gray a better wr then lane. Lol true homers

Lane is very average. I hated he was a UM lean last year> I was absolutely excited he went to to tally. Not saying Gray is better , but lane isn't dynamic and his play makes me yawn.

some people here say some of the dumbest ****! Lane was considered one of if not the best WR prospect at the Under Armor practices last year which featured some of the best players in the nation....

And although i think he was a punk that was busy following Cook around like a lil *****....he's still far from average

Lane not average as a receiver at all. Would take him and Rudolph in a heartbeat. Will they be missed? I don't think so. Think we have talented guys at receiver but it would have been a bonus to have them though.

This right here.

I second this... just because the kid had no character and did not pick up doesn't take away from his talents and with a good QB throwing his way ... something for us to worry about when we play FSU down the road.

The only receiver we have that plays at a high level is Coley and maybe Drosette,

So was Gray not ranked high because of playing QB? Or just not going to camps? I know rankings don't necessarily matter in the end but I was just curious as I'm not from South Florida.

It was not going to camps but it was mostly his grades more than anything. Most big time programs didnt give him the time of day because they didnt think he was gonna get in, you couple that with him playing on a meh team and no camp visits, which means no exposure, and you got the ranking he got. 247 was the only site that had him as a solid 4 star, which is exactly where he should be, I still dont see the next level athlete many on here see, but he could play and excel at any program.

Everyone has such a boner for this guy, I don't get it. His tape looks good not great. His speed on film concerns me.

Which why people compare him to Anquan Boldin and not Santana Moss. Dude has the physique of a freak in HS. Once he hits our weight program he should be lookin like David Ausberry/Boldin once he is a So/Jr. What gets people excited is that buddy is just a flat out playmaker and he did what he did playing for a 3rd rate HS team and playing QB AND doing it in Dade County going up against some of the toughest athletes week after week.

You never can have too many playmakers and this guy is it. I dont think he can help us next year..but by year 2 he should be a staple on special teams and in our offense.

Lane couldn't hold Dixon's jockstrap . Lane will be just a full in at f$u. Lane wasn't even the best WR on his high school team.

Completely agree, especially about the speed. He has adequate speed, it really should not be an issue for his size, but he is in no way a blazer like some are making him out to be.

I have no clue whos tape you all are looking at. Trayone Gray would have been a 5 star at BTW or Central. He had to play QB because he was the best athlete on the team. he played alot of WR his Junior year and he was still doing the same thing as a WR. He will def have to learn how to run routes but the dudes highlights are amazing. all i have to say is i have never seen 247 give another player this title

Trayone Gray is
Athlete, Wide Receiver, Safety, Dual-Threat Quarterback and you can add Running Back to that as well. He does Kick returns and Punt Returns.

Anquan Boldin Comparison is Fair.

We all hope you're right. I don't live in S. Fla., and did not see him play live. Based on the video highlights, he just did not jump off the screen like many on here describe. As a comparison, Duke Johnson appeared to be playing a different game than everyone in his high school highlights.

If he is an Anquin Boldin-like athlete, I'd expect him to jump off the screen a little more.

The hatred for Lane is strong... lol. I'm not a fan myself but ****..... tough crowd over here.

Lane is way more polished then gray at wr what are are y'all smoking ?
I like Gray a lot but at this point as a WR prospect he is pretty far behind Lane, Dixon, and Rudolph.

Gray is a great athlete and has a great feel for the game but he isnt a polished WR at all. not really comparable to those guys IMO

Lane isn't a polished WR prospect either

Gray is a much more polished and natural football player than Lane. And it ain't close.

I said football player. He wasn't exclusively focused on the WR position in high school, so of course Lane may be further along the curve technically. But Gray is a much more instinctive and natural football player. The Boldin comparison is spot on, though he is markedly faster than Boldin ever was.

Spotted where? From the parking garage? Slapping Julio Derosier in the mouth and having ripped out the throat of the Chupacabra?

so was Aldrius johnson and that's who film lane reminds me of. pretty underwhelming.
